A Cup Holds the Universe
Tea Poem by Seoljam Zen Master
Sipping a single cup, the mind opens wide.
Vast and luminous, heaven and earth appear within this very moment.
True nature has never come nor gone—
White clouds, as always, fill the empty mountain.
(Short Reflection for Readers)
In one quiet sip of tea, the boundless universe is revealed.
When the mind is clear and unattached, nothing is lacking.
Mountains remain mountains, clouds remain clouds—
yet the awakened heart sees them as they truly are.
