The 6th Principle : Blessing(福,복)... Blessing... Article 232.
The 1st Gate(門,문) : Benevolence(仁,인)... Benevolence / Kindness... Article 233.

The 7th Sub-item(號,호) : Yielding to the Deficient(讓劣,양열)... Yielding to Those in Lack... Article 240.
Yielding to the Deficient(讓劣,양열 - Yangyeol) means that a person of abundance
yields to a person who is in lack.
Seeking honor is a lowly act that conversely brings damage to one′s honor,
and coveting a reputation causes that name to be transmitted wrongly,
which conversely harms one′s reputation.
Therefore, even if wise person(哲人,철인) has established merits,
they yield them to those who have none; and even if they deserve to receive a reward,
they yield it to rhose who have not received one.
[Original Text,
One who practices 'Yielding to the Deficient'(讓劣,양열) is a superior or abundant person
yielding to one who is deficient.
Seeking honor is a lowly act that conversely damages one′s honor,
and fishing for a reputation is a vain act that conversely harms one′s reputation,
Therefore, a wise person(哲人,철인), even if they have merits to claim,
yields to those who have no merits,
and even if they are worthy of a reward,
they yield to those who have not received one.
[Commentary,
The notion that seeking honor conversely damages one′s honor is,
upon deeper reflection, a complete truth.
There exists an immutable, absolute honor―one that Heaven knows,
Earth knows, and above all, oneself knows.
On the other hand, the honor that changes with time is merely the praise
and reputation spoken on the lips of ordinary people.
If one strives tirelessly to gain this transient honor,
one ends up losing that absolute and immutable honor.
Therefore, absolute honor is noble(貴,귀) yet may remain unknown to others,
whereas the constantly changing honor of the world is trivial(賤,천) yet known to everyone.
※ Key Notes.
Yielding to the Deficient / Conceding to the Less Fortunate
A person og abundance yields to a person who is in lack
The superior / abundant yields to the deficient
● 救譽(구예) : Seeking honor(명얘를 억지로 구하거나 탐함.)
● 陋(더러울 루/누) : Lowly / Vulgar(비천하고 천박함.)
● 釣名(조명) : Fishing for a reputation(이름을 얻기 위해 명성을 낚으려 함.)
● 譁(시끄러울/ 속일 화) : Vain / Clamorous(거짓으로 꾸며대거나 헛된 명성으로 시끄러움.)
● 是以(시이) : Therefore / For this reason(이러한 까닭으로.)
