“I can do nothing on My own. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of Him who sent Me.”
The Father God has given everything to the Son. Jesus said that He can do nothing on His own—because the Father has shown Him everything and made Him hear everything.
Jesus speaks and does only what the Father has shown and told Him. That is why He said, "I can do nothing on My own."
If we are to be justified by faith, we must live according to the will of the Father. This means denying ourselves and taking up our cross.
The one who follows the will of the One who sent him - who follows God’s will - is righteous. Only when we confirm that God is with us, that He leads us, and that He protects us as our Advocate, can we live in His righteousness, peace, and joy.
