김건희 여사에게 명품백을 건넨 혐의로 재판에 넘겨진 김기현 국민의힘 의원이 1심에서 무죄를 선고받았다.

서울중앙지법 형사합의22부(재판장 조형우 부장판사)는 30일 청탁금지법 위반 혐의로 기소된 김 의원에게 무죄를 선고했다. 같은 혐의를 받는 배우자 이모씨에게는 벌금 500만원과 가방 몰수를 선고했다.

앞서 김건희 특별검사팀은 지난달 열린 결심 공판에서 김 의원에 대해 징역 1년, 부인 이씨에게 징역 6개월을 구형했다. 특검에 따르면 김 의원 부부는 2023년 3월 당 대표 당선에 대한 대가로 김 여사에게 267만원 상당의 로저비비에 클러치백을 제공한 혐의를 받는다.
