In today's passage, the Pharisees openly take the stance that no prophet comes from Galilee, which is problematic. This reflects a widespread prejudice in Jewish society. The temple, which stands at the center of this society, also has many issues.
If this society judges with justice, the sacrifices in the temple will be righteous. But if society judges based on appearances rather than justice, the temple will be reduced to mere formality.
Even today, such prejudices are common. Justice means having the right attitude and actions before God. What matters is a person's attitude before God.
Therefore, we should not judge people carelessly. When appointing church workers, we should not focus on outward appearance but on justice, building a biblical church.
