Jesus said, "Everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin."
The issue of action that Jesus spoke of is related to sin, not a matter of being a slave due to political or economic bondage. No matter how much freedom one enjoys in a liberal democracy, if one is a slave to sin, they are still a slave. Jesus speaks of freedom from sin and freedom from death. This is not something that can be achieved through wealth or politics.
Jesus repeatedly emphasizes that only His word of truth can set us free.
"So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free."
Only Jesus can set us free; no one else can.
Our Lord Jesus does not look at outward appearances but at righteousness. He sees our faith. In order to live, we must be part of the lineage of faith: from Abraham’s faith came Isaac, from Isaac’s faith came Jacob, and from Jacob’s faith came the twelve tribes - among them, we must belong to the descendants of Judah. In other words, we must be Christians who belong to Jesus.
