<p>Jesus said, <b>"Everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin."</b></p><p> </p><p>The issue of action that Jesus spoke of is related to sin, not a matter of being a slave due to political or economic bondage. No matter how much freedom one enjoys in a liberal democracy, if one is a slave to sin, they are still a slave. Jesus speaks of <b>freedom from sin and freedom from death.</b> This is not something that can be achieved through wealth or politics.</p><p>Jesus repeatedly emphasizes that <b>only His word of truth can set us free.</b></p><p> </p><p><b>"So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free."</b></p><p>Only Jesus can set us free; no one else can.</p><p>Our Lord Jesus does not look at outward appearances but at righteousness. He sees our faith. In order to live, we must be part of the lineage of faith: from Abraham’s faith came Isaac, from Isaac’s faith came Jacob, and from Jacob’s faith came the twelve tribes - among them, we must belong to the descendants of Judah. In other words, we must be <b>Christians who belong to Jesus.</b></p><p> </p><p><i>Excerpt from the sermon by Pastor Lee, Mar 13, 2025.</i></p><p><i>John 8:33-45</i></p><p><i>(D-158)</i></p>
