I feel trapped in a life of routine, sameness, and monotony .
It causes me feel like dummy that I can't even distinguish this week from last week.
Finally I decided to hang out with different activities.
I ended up joining a table tennis club which is located in korean church.
After finished working, I went to the table tennis center.
There was already crowded with people.
The sound of noisy like hailing on the roof of a car.
Soon after I mingled with group, I was so busy picking up the balls on the floor than receiving.
But it was fun.
we played a half an hour, and break time was given to us.
People started gathering around me, and they asked me a bunch of questions.
What do I do for living, am I married, first time here so and so. ....
Nothing really bothered me until they intensively asked me to join the church.
I just felt like interrogating by police.
I am puzzed why this people so particular about those questions?
They think that it is a big deal the person is now belong to is more important than
what this person here for today. ....
I don't think I will go back there cause it could happen again.
My rebel against a hectic lifestyle is obviously failed.
첫댓글The rebel against a hectic lifestyle would be usually coming from being absent friends, lost loves, and the seasons of mist. But your case would be different . Yes, most of people joining in this spots games as table tennis [ 배드민튼 ] etc, which are located in Korean church in USA , used to ask a lot of questions in aggressive way [ rude manner ] to the new visitor, as one of the invisiable pressures of participating to this church. It would not be desirable way / attitude ~
I heard many times through other sources also that such a similar case has been usually happend in every church' culture complex in Korea and/or abroad. I think it is up to you to accept and enjoy their cultural mission of many christian through same interest of table tennis., etc., and then I would like you to think diffent and change your fixed idea positively because every life depend on your choice and the religion also is to be one of every life you will have to make a selection by yourself. In conclusion, religion also is respective choice and hobby for better life.
Good morning ~ I understand how u feel that ^^ Korean .s character is most strong in the world I guess . I have met lots of people from all over the world ^^ Most of them complain about a personal question from Korean people . Age , marriage , school , occupation etc. besides how is income too ^^ I guess u are already used to Koean,s character cause u living in U.s for a long time related with korean .
I understand your situation and irritation caused by their so many personal questions. But we can think about it another way like this. The reason why they give you so many questions is that they have concern and curiosity for you. If they give you less question , it means that they don't care about you. It is also a tragedy that you don't draw any attention from other people . ㅎㅎㅎ From 역발상의 사나이
hi썬샤인님~,nice to meet you.~ I sympathize with the feeling embarassed. I think that it is one of the great misbehaviors in korean culture. If we do not have awareness asking of the situation how much money do i earn monthly, whether get married, age, ect. it might hurt their feelings.
