마주하면 공포와 고통을 일으키는 거대한 사물 

무언가가 존재한다면, 아마 그것을 두려워하는 누군가도 있을 것이다.

혹시 trypophobia들어본 적 있나요? 이건 많은 구멍이 있는 패턴을 볼 때 혐오감이나 공포를 느끼는 것이다.

그렇다면 arachibutyrophobia는요? 이 단어 자체도 길고 발음하기 어렵지만, 사실 꽤 적절하다. 이건 입천장에 땅콩버터가 달라붙는 걸 두려워하는

공포를 뜻한다.  
메갈로포비아(Megalophobia) 서브레딧에서 가장 소름 돋는 사진들을 모아봤다. 

*Trypophobia는 작은 구멍이나 돌기들이 반복적으로 모여 있는 패턴이나 군집을 보는 것에 대한 혐오감을 말한다.임상적으로 별개의 정신적 또는

감정적 장애로 인정되지는 않지만,  trypophobia가 과도한 공포나 고통을 유발하는 경우에는 '특정 공포증' 범주에 속할 수도 있다.

Trypophobia를 가진 사람들은 주로 이런 이미지를 볼 때 혐오감을 느끼지만, 일부는 공포와 혐오감을 비슷한 수준으로 느끼기도 한다.
2021년 기준으로, 트리포포비아는 과학계에서 잘 이해되지 않고 있다.몇 안 되는 연구에서는, 몇몇 연구자들이 이것이 생물학적 혐오 반응의 결과일 수 있으며, 트리포포비아 모양을 위험이나 질병과 연관 짓게 만들어 진화적 기반이 있을 수도 있다고 가설을 세웠다.

그리고 노출 요법이 가능한 치료 방법일 수도 있다고 한다.
Trypophobia라는 용어는 2005년에 온라인 포럼의 한 익명 회원이 만들었다.그 이후로 소셜 네트워크 사이트에서 자주 다뤄지는 주제가 되었다.

*Arachibutyrophobia는 땅콩버터가 입천장에 달라붙는 것에 대한 강렬하고 비합리적인 공포를 말한다. DSM-5에서 공식적으로 독립된 장애로 인정되지는 않았지만, 특정하고 치료 가능한 공포증으로 심한 불안과 회피 행동을 일으킬 수 있다. 이 용어는 1970년대에 만들어졌고, 그리스어 arachi(땅콩)와 butyro(버터), 그리고 phobia(공포)를 합쳐서 만들어졌다. 영향을 받는 사람들에게 달라붙는 느낌은 질식에 대한 압도적인 두려움을 불러일으킨다.

*메갈로포비아(Megalophobia)는 거대한 인공 구조물, 자연물, 또는 압도적인 크기의 생명체나 물체를 보았을 때 극심한 불안과 공포를 느끼는 거대공포증이다. 크다는 것을 뜻하는 그리스어 megalos와 두려움을 뜻하는 phobos가 합성된 단어로, 초고층 빌딩, 거대 조각상, 넓고 깊은 바다, 거대한 우주선 등을 마주할 때 주로 발현된다.
