A guide to Seoul's best Halloween haunts
It’s that time of the year again when people get excited about their costumes and stores put out the usual pumpkins and skeletons to promote their wares specially prepared for Halloween.
Though Halloween is not a holiday traditionally celebrated in Korea, it has now become yet another excuse to party.
A scene from the 2016 box office hit “Train to Busan” will come alive at LetsRun Park Seoul in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province on Saturday.
“Zombie Run Halloween Festival” engages its participants, dubbed “runners,” in a “deadly” chase with a batch of zombies. The 3-kilometer race will consist of different sections such as an obstacle race, a race against the clock and the “romance” section.

The participants will also be able to pay to get special Halloween makeup done to look like the Joker, Harley Quinn, a zombie or wounded. They will also be able to attend after parties at two clubs in Gangnam, southern part of Seoul, for free.
For those lonely souls on the spooky night, GS Engineering & Construction Corp. will be hosting “Romantic Halloween,” a matchmaking event at Gran Seoul in Gwanghwamun, downtown Seoul on Saturday.
A total of 300 working singles aged between 25 and 35 will get to freely roam the eight restaurants inside the Gran Seoul mall in groups of two.
Once they enter a restaurant, the seats will be arranged so that two men and two women are seated together at a table and encouraged to talk. There is a time limit of 45 minutes for every restaurant visited. The event runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Embracing the Halloween theme, the event will also feature a business card lucky draw from jack-o‘-lantern and photo-taking events with staff dressed up as zombies and ghosts.

Cosplay is definitely a key part of the Halloween. D Museum in Hannam-dong, Seoul joins the Halloween fever with its “Museum Halloween Week” from Oct. 27 to 31.
During the period, visitors in Halloween costumes can enter the museum’s “Plastic Fantastic” exhibition for free.
Also, visitors who post their photos in Halloween poses on their social media accounts with hashtags #DMuseum and #MuseumHalloweenWeek, get the chance to receive special Halloween edition slimes from Slime Goodie. The slimes will be presented to 25 visitors everyday on a first-come-first-served basis.
“Great Korean Beer Festival 2017” in Yongsan, Seoul, will feed the hungry souls with food and craft beer.
The beer festival brings together popular craft beers from all over the country such as Gangwon, Busan and Jeju, and from overseas as well, including the US and the Czech Republic.
Alongside the beers will be snacks from restaurants such as Spain Club, Jilhal Bros, California Pizza Kitchen and Mad Fisherman.
The festival will also feature a Halloween costume contest where the winners will earn prizes worth 1 million won ($889.5) in total.
The festival will run from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. from Friday to Sunday.
“Lotty‘s Halloween Party Parade” at Lotte World Adventure (Lotte World Adventure)
Dubbed the lands of dream and fantasy, amusement parks are also ready to welcome visitors with spooky Halloween events and decorations.
Lotte World Adventure in Seoul is holding “Horror Halloween 2: He’s Back” festival until Nov. 5. During the day, the park features the “Cute Halloween” theme under which the visitors get to play with mischievous ghosts. After 6 p.m. a full-blown “Horror Halloween” takes place in various places throughout the park.
Everland Resort, located in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, is providing its visitors with the Halloween experience under three different themes: Real Horror, Happy Halloween and Virtual Horror. The festival runs until Nov. 5.
