A Prayer to Live as a Christian in the World

Dear Heavenly Father,

On this Wednesday morning,

we come before you to seek your help in living out our lives as Christians in this world.

Lord, we first pray that you would cleanse our hearts and minds.

Please forgive the moments when we neglected our relationship with you,

swept away by the busyness and worries of the world.

We confess our weakness in compromising with worldly values and temptations.

Wash us clean with your precious blood, so that we may live this day with pure hearts, worshiping you.

Pour out your love upon us, so that we may pour that love out to everyone we meet.

May we be a channel of love in our workplaces, schools, homes, and communities.

We remember your command to live as the light and salt of the earth.

Guide our words and actions so that they may reveal your glory and bring hope to those who are in despair.

In the midst of the complex and difficult issues of this world, we ask for your wisdom.

Grant us spiritual discernment to distinguish right from wrong,

and the courage to choose and decide according to your will.

Grant us boldness, so that we may not hesitate or fear because of our faith.

Help us to live as witnesses who testify only to Jesus Christ, even in the face of the world's criticism and persecution.

Lord, we lift up this world and society in which we live to you.

May your justice and peace prevail in places filled with unrighteousness and suffering.

Help us to remember our neighbors and those in need.

May we not ignore their necessities,

but rather share even a small helping hand to bring your comfort and warmth into their lives.

We humbly pray all of this in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

세상 속 그리스도인으로 살아가기 위한 기도

사랑하는 하나님 아버지, 수요일 아침,

저희가 이 세상 속에서 그리스도인으로서의 삶을 살아가기 위해 주님 앞에 나아갑니다.

주님, 먼저 저희의 마음과 생각을 정결하게 해주시기를 간구합니다.

세상의 분주함과 염려에 휩쓸려 주님과의 관계가 소홀했던 순간들을 용서하여 주옵소서.

세상의 가치관과 유혹에 타협했던 연약함을 고백합니다.

주님의 보혈로 저희를 깨끗하게 씻어주셔서, 오늘 하루도 순결한 마음으로 주님을 예배하며 살게 하여 주옵소서.

저희에게 주님의 사랑을 부어주셔서, 저희를 만나는 모든 이들에게 그 사랑을 흘려보낼 수 있게 하옵소서.

저희가 속한 직장, 학교, 가정, 그리고 공동체에서 사랑의 통로가 되게 하옵소서.

세상의 빛과 소금으로 살아가라 명하신 주님의 말씀을 기억합니다.

저희의 말과 행동이 주님의 영광을 드러내고, 절망 속에 있는 이들에게 소망을 전하는 삶이 되게 인도하여 주옵소서.

이 세상의 복잡하고 어려운 문제들 속에서 주님의 지혜를 구합니다.

옳고 그름을 분별할 수 있는 영적인 통찰력을 허락하시고, 주님의 뜻대로 선택하고 결정할 수 있는 용기를 주옵소서.

저희에게 담대함을 주셔서, 믿음으로 인해 주저하거나 두려워하지 않게 하옵소서.

세상의 비난과 핍박 앞에서도 오직 예수 그리스도만을 증거하는 증인의 삶을 살게 하옵소서.

주님, 저희가 살고 있는 이 세상과 사회를 주님께 올려드립니다.

불의와 고통이 가득한 곳에 주님의 공의와 평화가 임하게 하옵소서.

특별히 저희의 이웃과 도움이 필요한 이들을 기억하게 하옵소서.

저희가 그들의 필요를 외면하지 않고, 작은 손길이라도 나누어 주님의 위로와 따뜻함을 전하는 삶을 살게 하옵소서.

이 모든 것을 저희의 구원자 되신 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 간절히 기도드립니다.
