탈 영토화 운동을 향해, 자기와 다른 것들과 만나면서 자신을 이전의 자신과 다른 것으로 만드는 운동을 향해 열려있을 때 노마디즘이라는 말은 충분히 타당성을 갖는다. 노마디즘은 새로운 영토를 만들거나 거리에 자리 잡는 재영토화가 아니라, 머물고 있는 곳이 어디든 항상 떠날 수 있는 탈 영토화를 말한다. 또한 다 쓴 땅을 버리고 다른 곳으로 옮겨가는 이주민을 혼동해선 곤란하다. 탈주선을 그리려는 욕망이 새로운 가치를 창조할 능력을 상실했을 때 그러면서도 낡은 가치, 기존의 세계에 대한 혐오의 정염만을 키워나게 될 때 그것은 그저 화약 냄새로 가득 찬 나쁜 전쟁으로 전환되고 말 것이다. 내가 생각하는 탈영토화란 한 곳에 안주하는 매너리즘의 빠진 예술이 아니라 새로운 곳을 향해 늘 질주할 준비를 하는 것이 저의 작품 속에서 보여주고자 하는 탈영토화이다. 또한 진정한 예술가라면 자기 자신을 부인하고 희생하며 타자에게 휴식과 생명을 불어넣어주는 나무가 되어야 앞으로의 비전과 가치가 이루어질 것이다.
