Most people think, tetris is a very easy game. But I don't think so. Tetris deals not only with the past moves but also the momentary handling ability. I will explain tetris shortly for some people who don't know tetris well. There is a rectangular space. In here, you can fill the space with the seven pieces, each made of four squres. If you make one horizontal line over without any blanks, you can erase these lines. As you erase many lines, the game speed increases. This is tetris game. Perhaps, when I was an elementary school, I saw tetris for the first time in the game room. And then, In middle school days, I used to play tetris with my brothers for not cleaning the house. And When I was a highschool student in the third grade, It seems I got addicted to tetris. At that time, the online tetris game, hangame, was very popular. So I could compete with other online competitors. It might be the reason why I was addicted. I just enjoyed to win competitors and increase my skill level. Anyway, night after night I played tetris on my computer. So, now I am still able to play tetris well. 1. History of TETRIS. In 1985, Alexey Pajitnov and Dmitry pavlovsky were computer engineers at the Computer Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. They were interested in developing and selling addictive computer games. They tested out several different games. Alexey was inspired by the ancient Greek puzzle game, Pentaminos, which involved arranging pentamino pieces as they fill the rectangular glass, but realized that the twelve different five-squrare shapes were too complex for a video game. Alexey switched to using seven "tetramino" pieces, each made of four squres. and then, He programmed the first version of Tetris on an Electronica 60. In 1986, Vadim Gerasimov, a 16 year old highschool computer prodigy who worked at the academy, invented 'Tetris' to the IBM PC running on the MS-DOS operating system. This was the beginning of the computer tetris game. 2. What is the TETRIS' meaning? I tried to find a precise definition but I was unable to. In my own thoughts, since 'tetra' means four's prefix. tetris consists of seven pieces, each made of four squares. And If you fill the four lines with each pieces, we can say "TETRIS". 3. TETRIS as the on-line game. As the on-line game, tetris is a very classical popular game. 'Hangame' started the online tetris for the first time. So now we are playing tetris with other players. As i've pointed out, tetris has lots of interesting factors and it is progressing to make the game more fun. So many people are playing tetris lately. How about playing tetris!
