I wouldn't be afraid if I caught a fish. No, siree. Okay, catch this one. Whoa! Yikes! Get it off me. Hey, wait a minute.
This isn't a real fish. ( Barney laughs )
all: One, two, three, four, five
once I caught a fish alive
six, seven, eight, nine, ten
then I let him go again
why did you let him go?
Because he bit my finger so
which finger did he bite?
This little finger on the right. You know, I thought there was something fishy about this guy. ( All laughing )
it was nice inside the caboose, but it's still hot out here. ( All agree )
I sort of wish i was one of those fish in the aquarium.
Angela: Yeah, I guess it would feel great to go swimming in nice, cool water.
B.J.: It sure would. Well, to do that, I think you'd need two things. Some imagination. We've got plenty of that.
And what was the other thing? Let me think here... Oh, yes, i know.
Whoa! ( Everyone cheering ) and a swimming pool. This is totally awesome!
Gianna: Come on, let's get in the pool. ( Whistle shrills ) not quite yet.
Swimming is fun, but it should also be safe.
Do you know the rules? One rule is to always have a grownup or a lifeguard at the pool.
You're our lifeguard, right, barney?
That's right, nick.
Another rule is to wear a life jacket if you can't swim.
And to choose a swimming buddy. I'll watch you. And I'll watch you.
And there's one more very important rule.
All: Sunscreen!
Right. B.J., Are you coming?
Oh, yeah, yeah. I just want to put this thing on first.
Don't wait for me. I'll be right there. ( Struggling ) oh, it must have shrunk.
It wasn't as tight last year. ( Straining )
barney: Oh, this looks great. ( Music begins ) all:
If I lived under the sea, sea, sea
i think it would be neat as it could be, be, be
i could visit all the fish any time i wish
if I lived under the sea.
I could ride on the tail of a great big whale
wow, that would be great
i could count the legs on an octopus
one-two-three- four-five-six-seven-eight.
If I lived under the sea, sea, sea
i think it would be neat as it could be, be, be
i could visit all the fish any time i wish
if I lived under the sea.
It would be so new to watch a tuna
talking with an itty bitty snail
or to see the pretty fin on the back of a fish
who carries his very own sail. All:
If I lived under the sea, sea, sea
i think it would be neat as it could be, be, be
i could visit all the fish any time i wish
if I lived under the sea
i could visit all the fish any time i wish
if I lived under
if I lived under
if I lived under the sea. ( Song ends ) ( barney and kids laughing ) the water felt really good, but I need a break.
I feel nice and cool now. Oh, that's great.
Hey, b.J.-- Aren't you going to swim?
Sure. I just need one more minute. What about you, barney?
Oh, uh... Well, I'd like to, but I don't know.
What's wrong, barney?
Well, to tell you the truth, I've got a little problem. ( Chuckles ) here, I'll show you.
Whoa, nelly! Oh, my! The water's so cold it tickles my toes.
He waded in the water
and he got his feet all wet
he waded in the water
and he got his feet all wet
he waded in the water
and he got his feet all wet out he didn't get his belly button wet... All:
Yet!
Barney's gettin' in the water
barney's gettin' in the water
barney's gettin' in the water
but he didn't get his belly button wet...
Yet! Come on, barney, jump in! Well... Okay. Go, barney.
Barney's gettin' in the water
barney's gettin' in the water
barney's gettin' in the water
and he's gonna get his belly button wet. Here i go.
Five, four, three, two, one, go! Here i go. Whoa! ( Huge splash ) ( kids giggling ) oops.
All right. I'm finally ready to swim. Oh, um... Maybe running and jumping wasn't a good idea. Sorry, b.J.
I guess I splashed out all the water. You did? You did! ( Laughing ): Ay-yi-yi. Oh, turtle.
So did everyone do enough swimming today?
Kids: I did, yeah.
And how about you, b.J.?
Oh, yeah, I did plenty of swimming after we filled the pool up again. ( All laugh ) there's just one thing wrong.
Oh, what's that?
I wish i'd remembered to take off my shoes. ( Shoes sloshing water )
I think I'd better go home and put on dry shoes. See you later, guys.
All: Bye, b.J.
Barney: Bye-bye.
Even though B.J. Got his shoes wet, I think he had a fun time in the water.
When i think about it, we all had fun with water today in lots of ways.
Oh, there's no doubt about it.
Water is very important. Almost as important as having special friends like you. ( To tune of "this old man" )
i love you, you love me
we're a happy family
with a great big hug and a kiss from me to you
won't you say you love me, too?
I love you, you love me
we're best friends like friends should be
With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you
won't you say you love me, too? Hey! Look at the flowers. ( Kids oohing and ahhing ) they're not drooping anymore. The water really did help. You were right, barney. Oh, barney. Thanks for helping us keep cool today, barney. see you later. All: Bye, barney. See you later. Hey, everybody, it's time for "barney says." Hello again to all my friends, I'm glad you came to play. Our fun and learning never end, here's what we did today.
On a hot day like today, a drink of cold water tastes great. But water is also very important in lots of ways. Everything that grows needs water, so we shared some with the flowers.
We used water, lemons and sugar to make tasty lemonade.
Water can be a home for animals like fish.
Of course, swimming is fun for us, too, if we remember the safety rules...
And we're careful about splashing. Oh, I just love water. And remember, I love you.
