1. The Historian and His Facts

<Vices of Integrity> - <E.H.Carr
Edward(Ted) Hallett Carr was born in Upper Holloway, a rapidly expanding north London suburb, on Thursday June 1892 Elizabeth Jessie(nee Hallett) and Francis Parker Carr. It was a very humid day. From that evening unusually severe thunderstorms continued until the early hours of Thursday morning. Nearly every Elm(느릅나무) on Hampstead Health and parliament Hill fields was scorched by lightning. The political climate was no less electric. Ulstermen were in revolt. Prime Minister William Gladstone was bent upon Home Rule for Ireland, a policy condemned in no uncertain terms by <The Times>. as 'an impudent imposture and a fraud upon the nation'.
