9. 그 날 밤 주께서 기드온에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 일어나서 적진으로 쳐내려 가거라. 내가 그들을 너의 손에 넘겨 주겠다.(사사기7:9)9. During that night the Lord said to Gideon, “Get up, go down against the camp, because I am going to give it into your hands. 미디안이 이스라엘 사람들을 괴롭혔습니다.Midianites troubled the Israelites.씨뿌리고 거름 주고 수확해놓으면 이들이 군인들을 몰고 와서 모조리 빼앗아 갔습니다.Midianites brought soldiers and took away everything which Israelites have sowed, fertilized, and harvested.소나 양도 돈 되는 것들은 모조리 빼앗아 갔습니다.They took away the cattle, sheep and all things are worthy.우리 할머니 할아버지도 일본놈들에게 그렇게 당하셨습니다.Our grandmother and grandfather were also treated like that by the Japanese.그렇게 많은 사람이 굶어서 죽었답니다.So many people died of starvation.이렇게 되자 사람들이 “아이고! 하나님, 살려주세요” 하면서 기도했습니다.When this happened, people prayed, “Oh! God, please save us."그 기도를 들으신 하나님이 기드온을 불러 미디안을 쳐부신 것입니다.God heard that prayer and called Gideon to defeat Midianites.옛적 이스라엘 애급에서 종살이했을 때 바로 왕이 명령했습니다.Once upon a time, when Israelites were in Egypt as slave, the king of Israel ordered:아들을 낳으면 강에 다 버려라!If you give birth to a son, throw them all into the river!하지만 누구도 바로 왕을 대항할 수 없었습니다.But no one could stand against the King Pharaoh.그러자 사람들은 울며불며 기도하기 시작했습니다.Then people started crying and praying.그 기도를 들으시고 하나님은 10번의 기적을 베푸시며 그들을 구원하신 것입니다.After hearing their prayers, God saved them through 10 miracles.질문을 하겠습니다.Let me ask you a question.미디안 사람들이 이스라엘 백성들을 괴롭혔을 때 이스라엘 백성들은 무엇을 했을까요?What would the Israelites do when the Midianites had troubled them?무엇을 들으시고 하나님께서 그들을 구해 주셨을까요?What would God hear and save the Israelites?바로가 아들을 낳으면 강에 빠뜨리라고 했을 때 이스라엘 백성들이 한 일이 무엇일까요?What would the Israelites do when Pharaoh told them to drown their sons in the river?하나님은 무엇 때문에 10번의 기적을 베푸셨을까요?Why did God perform 10 miracles?맞아요.That's right.기도입니다.It is a prayer.기도는 문을 여는 열쇠입니다.Prayer is the key that unlocks the door.하지만 사람들은 그 열쇠를 자주 잃어버리지요.But people often lose the key.그래서 아들을 낳으면 강에 버리라는 소리를 듣게 된 것입니다.That is why, when a son is born, they had to throw their baby into the river.미디안으로 곡식을 빼앗게 하신 것입니다.God made Midianites steal their grain.여러분에게 괴로운 일이 있습니까?Are you having trouble?기도하세요.Pray.하나님은 기드온에게 승리를 약속하셨습니다.God promised Gideon a victory.드디어 기드온은 대장이 되어서 군대를 모았습니다.Finally, Gideon became a captain and gathered his army.적군의 군대는 열 개의 산을 까맣게 덮을 정도였습니다.The enemy's army was about to cover ten mountains.기드온의 군대는 겨우 언덕 하나를 덮을 지경이었습니다.Gideon's army barely covered a hill.그 때 주님이 말씀하셨습니다.Then the Lord spoke.군대 숫자가 너무 많구나.There are too many troops.이렇게 전쟁을 한다면 제가 용감해서 이긴 줄 알 것이다.If you fight a war like this, you will think that you could win because you were brave.수많은 적군을 보고 기드온의 군인들이 무서워서 떨고 있었습니다.Seeing so many enemies, Gideon's soldiers trembled with fear.그 때 하나님이 기드온에게 말씀하셨습니다.Then God spoke to Gideon.무서워 떠는 사람들은 집에 돌려보내라!Let those who tremble in fear go home!그러자 이만 이천이 집으로 가고 만 명만 남았습니다.Then 22,000 went home, and only 10,000 remained.그리고 물가로 갔더니 군인들이 목이 말라 엎어져서 물을 마셨습니다.Then when they went to the water, the soldiers fell down and drank because they are thirsty.하나님께서 말씀하셨습니다.God has spoken.엎어져서 물 마시는 사람은 모조리 집으로 보내라.Send them all home who kneel down and drank water.그랬더니 다 가버리고 삼백 명만 남았습니다.Then they all left and only three hundred of them remained.그 삼백 명을 데리고 기드온이 열 개의 산을 덮은 적군과 싸운 것입니다.Gideon, with the three hundred men, fought against the enemies who covered ten mountains.이 삼백 명은 항아리에 횃불을 감추고 전쟁터에 갔습니다.These three hundred men hid their torches in the jars and went to the battlefield.그 삼백 명이 항아리를 깨자 그 속에서 횃불이 드러났습니다.As soon as three hundred men had broken the jar, torches were revealed from inside.나팔 소리와 함께 “주의 칼이다. 기드온의 칼이다.” 외침이 산을 울리자 적군을 잠에서 벌떡 일어나더니 놀라서 자기들끼리 서로 죽이기 시작했습니다.They cried out with the sound of the trumpet, “It is the sword of the Lord. It is the sword of Gideon.”As the cries echoed through the mountains, the enemy woke up from their sleep, frightened, and began to kill each other.그렇게 하나님이 승리를 가져다주셨습니다.That's how God brought the victory.고통이 와서 무엇을 했습니까?What did you do when the trouble came?기도를 했습니다.They prayed.그들은 기도해서 더 힘이 센 적을 이긴 것입니다.They won over the stronger enemies through the prayer.여러분에게 괴로운 일이 있나요?Are you having any troubles?괴로움은 기도하라는 주님의 말씀입니다.The troubles are the sign of the Lord to pray.
