Haedong Kumdo – Health and good life
Haedong Kumdo is a way of life.
It appears in everything you do, also outside of the dojang.
Behavior what have learn from Haedong Kumdo direct and teach you in every moment of your life,
like human interaction and sharing, and respect and appreciation from each other.
From Haedong Kumdo you learn healthy lifestyle, keep good care of body with good nutrition and physical education. From this way of life you learn also respect environment and understanding your role in universe.
Training Haedong Kumdo is lifelong habit.
You can start training in your childhood and keep on training till elderly age. Long-lasting training over lifetime helps your movement and good
physical fitness in elder years. Training cultivate your body muscles, balance, coordination and ventilation many ways.
Each Haedong Kumdo training session include all these things.
Exercise start with bowing, when all trainees stand in solid pattern.

In front of the pattern stand instructor, who control and direct a right way
with example.
=respect and stand upon
Pair exercises teach co-operation and respect each other, so nobody won`t hurt each other. Pair exercises teach also humbleness.
Advanced trainee will not try to dominate weaker, rather try to teach this and regulate to do better and develop in Haedong Kumdo.

Training session in dojang you take off your jewels and wash your hands and feet. You train with bare feet. You should leave all negative thinking
outside of the dojang and do everything heading for collective purpose.
=purity of mind and body
In training sessions we work with collective regulations. Trainees act together according instructions given by instructor. This cultivate solidarity and does secure training surroundings.
=behavior
Instructor is a person who leads training session. No one should not controvert instructor, rather training progress by instructors instructions.
Neither do not say anything negative to other trainees to violate or deride them.
= behavior and respect
Training groups are usually separate by belt rank. To advance in belt rank and reach for advanced group, you need long-lasting and patient training.
=patience
To go further in belt rank, you need many years training and work.
Moreover training sessions in dojang by instructor, you need to use your personal time to perfect techniques. Also you need to direct or instruct
other trainees training sessions when you are advanced belt rank. Probably you open own dojang to deploy Haedong Kumdo.
All these things doing without any allowance. Same way as your instructors has always done.

Higher belt ranks can not have arrogant behave in dojang and outside dojang among lower belt. Higher belt ranks should be possible to do same
exercises and techniques to direct lower belt ranks go further and develop them. And do techniques for examples.
=humbleness
At first in training session you warm up and stretch, this way body get ready for sword techniques training. Practice session develop equally
speed, stamina, endurance, balance and coordination. Sometimes pulse go very high, and after that you need to recover fast.
Ending part of session, you cool down, do stretch and muscle maintenance exercises.
Each training session develop human body various way.
Special training, KIMU
With KIMU exercises you can boost health, have relaxed techniques and
cultivate yourself being part of universe.
Breathing exercises can establish a part of everyday life.
Exercises can be active doing with movements or passive sitting breathing and meditation exercises.
KI is elixir of life
We have Ki to our body from parents in earlier years. Ki cultivate when we are growing, what we are doing and our experiences influence inner
energy cultivating.
We get Ki from nutrition, what and how we ar
e eating influence in our body and energy capacity.
We should eat important nutrition to our body, so that body organism develop and recover from
exercises. We should avoid disadvantageous
food.
We get Ki from nature and environment where we are living. Pure nature
is beneficial to our body and pollution in big cities is disadvantageous.
You can feel it when you go in to the cottage from stress city atmosphere.
Mind, body and nerve calm down. Stress go away from mind and body.
You feel like battery charging.
You can cultivate Ki energy with breathing and meditation exercises. =KIMU
Ki flow along meridians all around body.
Meridians consist of five elements, Earth, water, fire, metal and wood.
Ki flowing should be beneficial and free.
If Ki in something element is too weak, it can influence in something organ in body and cause illness.
If something element Ki is too rich, it can make other element weak.
With KIMU exercises can cultivate free flowing of Ki in body.
It is possible to use Ki energy for healing. For example Kiatsu, Shiatsu and Acupuncture.
Healer aim to open meridians which one are blocked with hand pressure
or with needles. Also with benefit circulation a weak element can be supported by other element. For example, Water advance wood and wood advance fire…
KIMU training and exercises should take soon to be a part of Haedong Kumdo training. Recognize effects and utilize it take long time.
