바다

유제완

그 아름다운 목소리

속삭이듯 다가오다가

파도에 쓸려가고

저녁 노을에 미움과 그리움이

묻혀 버린다

파도소리 크기로 외우던 법문

바람과 파도가 춤을 추다가

너울너울 어둠속에 잠긴다

바다가 고요하다

나도 바람이 되어

저 수면위로 날아가고 싶다

Sea

The gentle voice

drifts near in a whisper.

and is carried away by the waves.

My bitterness and longing

are buried in the evening glow.

I recite the Buddhist scriptures

to the rhythm of the waves.

The wind and sea dance together,

then sink beneath the wavering darkness.

The sea is tranquil.

I wish I could become the wind

and drift across its surface.
