1. 오늘의 묵상칼럼 : 주님의 명령에 우선적으로 순종하는 것 

<오늘의 말씀> 이사야 46장 11절 
“내가 동쪽에서 사나운 날짐승을 부르며 먼 나라에서 나의 뜻을 이룰 사람을 부를 것이라 내가 말하였은즉 반드시 이룰 것이요 계획하였은즉 반드시 시행하리라”

<관련 말씀: 요한복음 20장 21절>

“예수께서 또 이르시되 너희에게 평강이 있을지어다 아버지께서 나를 보내신 것 같이 나도 너희를 보내노라”

<오늘의 묵상>
   하나님의 일은 사람의 생각이나 계획에서 시작되지 않습니다. 하나님의 뜻에서 시작되며, 하나님께서는 그 뜻을 이루시기 위해 필요한 사람을 부르시고 보내십니다. 이사야 46장 11절은 하나님께서 계획하신 일을 반드시 이루신다는 사실을 선포합니다. 하나님께서는 우리가 예상하지 못한 사람을 사용하시고, 우리가 알지 못하는 길을 통해서도 자신의 뜻을 이루십니다.

  오스왈드 챔버스는 선교사의 마음에 있어야 할 가장 중요한 것은 사람의 필요가 아니라 예수님의 명령이라고 강조합니다. 물론 선교사는 사람들의 아픔을 돌아보고 그들의 필요를 채워야 합니다. 그러나 사람의 필요만을 바라보다 보면 정작 하나님께서 맡기신 사명을 놓칠 수 있습니다. 사람의 요구에 끌려다니는 것과 주님의 뜻에 순종하는 것은 다르기 때문입니다.

  예수님께서는 부활하신 후 제자들에게 말씀하셨습니다. “아버지께서 나를 보내신 것 같이 나도 너희를 보내노라.” 선교의 출발점은 사람의 필요가 아니라 예수님의 보내심입니다. 선교사는 자신이 하고 싶은 일을 위해 하나님을 찾는 사람이 아니라, 하나님께서 맡기신 일을 위해 자신을 드리는 사람입니다.

  이 원리는 해외 선교사에게만 해당하지 않습니다. 가정에서 자녀를 양육하는 부모에게도, 교회에서 성도를 섬기는 목회자에게도, 직장에서 복음을 드러내며 살아가는 그리스도인에게도 동일하게 적용됩니다. 우리는 사람들의 필요를 민감하게 살펴야 하지만, 그 필요를 어떻게 섬길 것인지는 말씀과 기도 가운데 주님의 뜻을 구해야 합니다.

    하나님께서는 오늘도 자신의 뜻을 이루기 위해 순종할 사람을 찾으십니다. 우리의 능력이 부족해도 괜찮습니다. 우리가 모든 상황을 이해하지 못해도 괜찮습니다. 중요한 것은 하나님께서 무엇을 명령하셨는지 듣고, 그 말씀에 순종하는 것입니다.

   사람의 필요를 살피되 사람의 요구에 끌려다니지 말고, 예수님의 명령을 따라 하나님께서 보내시는 자리로 나아갑시다. 하나님께서 시작하신 일은 하나님께서 이루십니다. 우리의 사명은 그 결과를 모두 책임지는 것이 아니라, 우리를 부르시고 보내시는 주님께 충성하는 것입니다.

< 오늘의 결단>
  나는 사람들의 기대와 요구를 만족시키는 데만 마음을 쓰고 있지는 않습니까? 아니면 말씀과 기도를 통해 주님의 명령을 먼저 구하고 있습니까?

  오늘 하루, 내 생각과 계획보다 주님의 뜻을 앞세우며 하나님께서 나를 보내신 가정과 교회와 일터에서 충성하기를 결단합시다.

“From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do.”

“Again Jesus said, ‘Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.’”

<Today's Meditation>
   God's work does not begin with human ideas or plans. It begins with His will. He calls and sends the people He chooses to accomplish His purposes. Isaiah 46:11 declares that God will surely fulfill what He has planned. He can use people we never expected and accomplish His purposes through paths we could never have imagined.

   Oswald Chambers emphasizes that the most important thing in a missionary's heart should not be human need, but the command of Jesus Christ. Of course, missionaries must care for people's suffering and respond to their needs. Yet when we focus solely on human needs, we may lose sight of the mission God has entrusted to us. Being driven by people's demands is not the same as obeying the Lord's will.

   After His resurrection, Jesus told His disciples, “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” The starting point of mission is not human need but the sending of Jesus Christ. A missionary is not someone who seeks God to accomplish personal ambitions, but someone who offers himself or herself to fulfill the work God has entrusted to them.

   This principle applies not only to overseas missionaries but also to parents raising their children, pastors serving their congregations, and Christians living out their faith in the workplace. We should be sensitive to the needs of others, but we must seek the Lord's will through His Word and prayer to understand how we are to serve them.

   Dear brothers and sisters, God is still looking for people who will obey Him and fulfill His purposes. It is all right if our abilities seem insufficient. It is all right if we cannot understand every circumstance. What matters is that we listen to God's commands and obey His Word.

   Let us care about people's needs without being controlled by their demands, and follow the command of Jesus to go wherever He sends us. God Himself will accomplish the work He has begun. Our mission is not to take responsibility for every outcome, but to remain faithful to the Lord who calls and sends us.

<Today's Commitment>
   Am I spending all my energy trying to satisfy the expectations and demands of others? Or am I seeking the Lord's commands first through His Word and prayer?

   Today, let us choose to put God's will above our own thoughts and plans, faithfully serving Him in the homes, churches, and workplaces where He has placed us.

<Prayer>
Heavenly Father, help me to seek Your will above human expectations. Teach me to listen to the command of Jesus and faithfully follow wherever You send me. May my life serve Your purpose and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.
