열왕기상 9장 말씀입니다.

1. 솔로몬이 {주}의 집과 왕의 집 건축하기를 마치고 자기가 기쁘게 행하고자 하던 것 즉 솔로몬의 모든 소원을

    끝마친 때에

And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the LORD, and the kings house, and all Solomons desire which he was pleased to do,

2. {주}께서 전에 기브온에서 그에게 나타나신 것 같이 두 번째 솔로몬에게 나타나

That the LORD appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon.

3. {주}께서 그에게 이르시되, 네가 내 앞에서 드린 네 기도와 간구를 내가 들었고 네가 건축한 이 집에 거기에 내

    이름을 영원히 두려고 그것을 거룩하게 구분하였은즉 내 눈과 내 마음을 영구히 거기에 두리라.

And the LORD said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.

4. 네가 만일 네 아버지 다윗이 걸은 것 같이 순전한 마음으로 곧바르게 행하여 내 앞에서 걸으며 내가 네게 명령한

    대로 다 행하고 내 법규와 내 법도를 지키면

And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, [and] wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:

5. 내가 네 아버지 다윗에게 약속하여 이르기를, 이스라엘 왕좌에 오를 사람이 네게 끊어지지 아니하리라, 한 대로 네

    왕국의 왕좌를 이스라엘 위에 영원히 굳게 세우려니와

Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.

6. 만일 너희 곧 너희나 너희 자손이 아주 돌이켜서 나를 따르지 아니하며 내가 너희 앞에 둔 내 명령과 내 법규를

    지키지 아니하고 가서 다른 신들을 섬기고 그들에게 경배하면

[But] if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments [and] my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:

7.내가 이스라엘에게 준 땅에서 친히 그들을 끊을 것이요, 내 이름을 위하여 내가 거룩하게 구별한 이 집도 내 눈앞에서

   던져 버리리니 이스라엘은 모든 민족들 가운데서 속담거리와 웃음거리가 되리라.

Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:

8. 또 이 집이 높을지라도 그 옆으로 지나가는 자마다 놀라고 비웃으며 그들이 이르되, {주}께서 무슨 까닭으로 이 땅과

    이 집에 이같이 행하셨는가? 하면

And at this house, [which] is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and to this house?

9. 그들이 대답하기를, 그 까닭은 그들이 자기 조상들을 이집트 땅에서 데리고 나오신 {주} 곧 자기들의 [하나님]을

    버리고 다른 신들을 붙들며 그들에게 경배하고 그들을 섬겼기 때문이라. 그러므로 {주}께서 이 모든 재앙을 그들에게

    가져오셨도다, 하리라, 하셨더라.

And they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the LORD brought upon them all this evil.

10. 이십 년이 끝난 뒤에 솔로몬이 두 집 곧 {주}의 집과 왕의 집을 건축하고

And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the LORD, and the kings house,

11. (이제 두로 왕 히람이 솔로몬에게 그의 모든 소원대로 백향목과 전나무와 금을 제공하였으므로) 솔로몬 왕이

      갈릴리 땅에 있는 도시 스무 개를 히람에게 주니라.

the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire, that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

12. 히람이 두로에서 나아와 솔로몬이 자기에게 준 도시들을 보고는 그것들을 기뻐하지 아니하여

And Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they pleased him not. 

13. 말하기를, 내 형제여, 그대가 내게 준 이것들이 도대체 무슨 도시들이냐? 하고 그것들을 가불의 땅이라 부르니

      이 날까지 이르니라.

And he said, What cities [are] these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them the land of Cabul unto this day. 

14. 히람이 금 백이십 달란트를 왕에게 보내었더라.

And Hiram sent to the king sixscore talents of gold.

15. 솔로몬 왕이 일꾼들을 모집한 까닭은 이러하니 곧 그가 {주}의 집과 자기 집과 밀로와 예루살렘 성벽과 하솔과

      므깃도와 게셀을 건축하고자 하였기 때문이라.

And this [is] the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the LORD, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.

16. 전에 이집트 왕 파라오가 올라와 게셀을 탈취하여 불태우고 그 도시에 거하던 가나안 족속을 죽이며 그 도시를

      자기 딸 곧 솔로몬의 아내에게 예물로 주었더라.

[For] Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it [for] a present unto his daughter, Solomons wife.

17. 솔로몬이 게셀과 아래쪽 벧호론을 건축하고

And Solomon built Gezer, and Bethhoron the nether,

18. 또 바알랏과 그 땅의 광야에 있는 다드몰과

And Baalath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land,

19. 솔로몬이 소유한 모든 저장 도시와 자신의 병거 도시들과 기병의 도시들을 건축하며 또 솔로몬이 예루살렘과

      레바논과 자기가 지배하던 온 땅에서 건축하고자 하던 것을 다 건축하니라.

And all the cities of store that Solomon had, and cities for his chariots, and cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion. 

20. 이스라엘 자손에 속하지 아니한 아모리 족속과 헷 족속과 브리스 족속과 히위 족속과 여부스 족속 중에서 남아

      있던 모든 백성들

[And] all the people [that were] left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which [were] not of the children of Israel,

21. 곧 그들의 뒤를 이어 그 땅에 남아 있던 그들의 자손 즉 이스라엘 자손이 능히 진멸하지 못한 자들, 그들에게도

      솔로몬이 노예로서 조공을 바치게 하여 이 날까지 이르게 하되

Their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel also were not able utterly to destroy, upon those did Solomon levy a tribute of bondservice unto this day.

22. 이스라엘 자손 중에서는 솔로몬이 아무도 노예로 삼지 아니하였으니 오직 그들은 군사와 그의 신하와 통치자와

      대장과 그의 병거를 다스리는 자와 기병이 되었더라.

But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no bondmen: but they [were] men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots, and his horsemen.

23. 솔로몬의 작업을 감독하는 관리들의 우두머리는 이러하니 곧 오백오십 명이더라. 그들이 그 작업에서 일하는

      백성을 다스렸더라.

These [were] the chief of the officers that [were] over Solomons work, five hundred and fifty, which bare rule over the people that wrought in the work.

24. 그러나 파라오의 딸이 다윗의 도시로부터 올라와 자기 집 곧 솔로몬이 그녀를 위하여 건축한 집에 이르렀을 때에

      그가 밀로를 건축하였더라.

But Pharaohs daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which [Solomon] had built for her: then did he build Millo.

25. 솔로몬이 자기가 {주}를 위하여 쌓은 제단 위에 해마다 세 번씩 번제 헌물과 화평 헌물을 드리고 또 {주} 앞에 있던

      제단에서 분향하니라. 이와 같이 그가 그 집을 완성하니라.

And three times in a year did Solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built unto the LORD, and he burnt incense upon the altar that [was] before the LORD. So he finished the house. 

26. 솔로몬 왕이 에돔 땅의 홍해 해안 곧 엘로스 옆에 있는 에시온게벨에서 배들을 지으니라.

And king Solomon made a navy of ships in Eziongeber, which [is] beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom. 

27. 히람이 자기 종들 곧 바다를 아는 뱃사람들을 솔로몬의 종들과 함께 그 배들에 실어 보내매

And Hiram sent in the navy his servants, shipmen that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.

28. 그들이 오빌에 이르러 거기서 금 사백이십 달란트를 취하여 솔로몬 왕에게 가져왔더라.

And they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought [it] to king Solomon.
