1. 세바의 여왕이 {주}의 이름에 관해 솔로몬의 명성을 듣고 와서 어려운 문제들로 그를 시험하려고

And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions.

2. 심히 많은 수행원과 또 향료와 심히 많은 금과 보석을 실은 낙타들과 함께 예루살렘에 이르렀더라.

    그녀가 솔로몬에게 나아와 자기 마음속에 있던 것에 대하여 그와 대화하매

And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.

3. 솔로몬이 그녀의 모든 질문에 대해 그녀에게 말하였으니 왕에게 숨겨져서 그가 그녀에게 말하지 못한 것이 하나도

    없었더라.

And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not [any] thing hid from the king, which he told her not. 

4. 세바의 여왕이 솔로몬의 모든 지혜와 또 그가 건축한 집과

And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomons wisdom, and the house that he had built,

5. 그의 상의 음식물과 그의 신하들의 앉는 것과 그의 일꾼들의 섬기는 것과 그들의 의복과 잔 나르는 자들과 그가

    {주}의 집에 올라갈 때 쓰는 오르막 통로를 보고는 더 이상 정신이 없어서

And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her. 

6. 왕에게 이르되, 내가 내 땅에서 당신의 행적과 당신의 지혜에 관하여 들은 소문이 참되도다.

And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thy acts and of thy wisdom. 

7. 그러나 내가 와서 내 눈으로 그것을 볼 때까지 그 말들을 믿지 아니하였도다. 보라, 그들이 절반도 내게 말하지 아니

    하였으니 당신의 지혜와 번영이 내가 들은 명성을 능가하는도다.

Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen [it]: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard. 

8.당신의 사람들은 행복하도다. 당신의 이 신하들은 행복하도다. 그들이 항상 당신 앞에 서서 당신의 지혜를 듣는도다.

Happy [are] thy men, happy [are] these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, [and] that hear thy wisdom.

9. {주} 당신의 [하나님]을 찬송할지로다. 그분께서 당신을 기뻐하사 이스라엘 왕좌에 당신을 앉히시고 {주}께서 영원히

    이스라엘을 사랑하셨으므로 당신을 왕으로 삼아 공의와 정의를 행하게 하셨도다, 하고

Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgment and justice.

10.그녀가 금 백이십 달란트와 심히 많은 향료와 보석을 왕에게 주었는데 세바의 여왕이 솔로몬 왕에게 준 이 향료처럼

     많은 향료가 다시는 오지 아니하였더라.

And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.

11. 또한 오빌에서부터 금을 실어 온 히람의 배들이 오빌에서 매우 많은 백단목과 보석을 가져오매

And the navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees, and precious stones. 

12. 왕이 백단목으로 {주}의 집과 왕의 집의 기둥들을 만들고 또 노래하는 자들을 위하여 하프와 비파를 만들었는데

     이 같은 백단목은 전에 오지도 아니하였고 이 날까지 보지도 못한 것이더라.

And the king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the kings house, harps also and psalteries for singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen unto this day. 

13.솔로몬 왕이 왕의 하사품 중에서 세바의 여왕에게 준 것 외에 또 그녀의 소원대로 그녀가 요구하는 것은 무엇이든지

     그녀에게 주니 이에 그녀가 돌이켜서 자기 신하들과 함께 자기 나라로 갔더라.

And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside [that] which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants. 

14. 이제 한 해에 솔로몬에게 들어온 금의 무게는 육백육십육 달란트였는데

Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold,

15. 이것은 그가 상인들과 향료 상품을 무역하는 상인들과 아라비아의 왕들과 그 나라의 총독들에게 받은 것 외의

      것이더라.

Beside [that he had] of the merchantmen, and of the traffick of the spice merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the country. 

16. 솔로몬 왕이 금을 쳐서 큰 방패 이백 개를 만들었는데 방패 하나에 금 육백 세겔이 들었으며

And king Solomon made two hundred targets [of] beaten gold: six hundred [shekels] of gold went to one target.

17. 또 그가 금을 쳐서 작은 방패 삼백 개를 만들었는데 방패 하나에 금 삼 마네가 들었더라. 왕이 그것들을 레바논

      숲의 나무로 만든 집에 두었더라.

And [he made] three hundred shields [of] beaten gold; three pound of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

18. 또 왕이 상아로 큰 왕좌를 만들고 가장 좋은 금으로 그것을 입혔더라.

Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the best gold.

19. 그 왕좌에는 여섯 계단이 있었고 왕좌의 꼭대기는 뒤가 둥글게 되어 있었으며 앉는 자리의 양쪽에는 팔걸이가

      있었고 팔걸이들 옆에는 사자 두 마리가 서 있었더라.

The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne [was] round behind: and [there were] stays on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the stays. 

20. 또 거기에 사자 열두 마리가 그 여섯 계단의 이쪽과 저쪽에 섰는데 어떤 왕국에도 이같이 만든 것이 없었더라.

And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom. 

21. 솔로몬 왕이 마시는 그릇은 다 금으로 되었으며 레바논 숲의 나무로 만든 집의 그릇도 다 순금으로 되었더라.

      은으로 된 것은 전혀 없었더라. 솔로몬 시대에 은을 하찮은 것으로 여겼으니

And all king Solomons drinking vessels [were of] gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon [were of] pure gold; none [were of] silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon. 

22. 이는 왕이 바다에 다시스의 배들을 두어 히람의 배들과 함께 있게 하여 삼 년에 한 번씩 그 다시스의 배들로 금과

      은과 상아와 원숭이와 공작을 가져왔기 때문이더라.

For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks. 

23. 이같이 솔로몬 왕이 부와 지혜에서 땅의 모든 왕을 능가하였더라.

So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom.

24. 온 땅이 [하나님]께서 솔로몬의 마음속에 주신 그의 지혜를 들으려고 그에게 나오기를 원하였더라.

And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart. 

25. 그들이 각각 자기의 예물을 가져오되 곧 해마다 정한 비율에 따라 은그릇과 금 그릇과 의복과 갑옷과 향료와 말과

      노새를 가져왔더라.

And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.

26. 솔로몬이 병거와 기병들을 함께 모으매 그가 소유한 병거가 천사백 대요, 기병이 만 이천 명이더라. 그가 그들을

      병거 도시들에도 두고 예루살렘에 있는 왕에게도 두었으며

And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots, and with the king at Jerusalem.

27. 또 왕이 예루살렘에서 은을 돌같이 많게 하고 백향목을 골짜기의 뽕나무같이 많게 하였더라.

And the king made silver [to be] in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he [to be] as the sycomore trees that [are] in the vale, for abundance. 

28. 솔로몬이 이집트에서 말과 아마 실을 가져오매 왕의 상인들이 한 값에 아마 실을 받았으며

And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the kings merchants received the linen yarn at a price. 

29. 병거는 한 대에 은 육백 세겔, 말은 한 마리에 백오십 세겔을 주고 이집트에서 가지고 올라왔더라. 이와 같이 헷

     족속의 모든 왕들과 시리아의 왕들을 위하여 그들이 자기 수단껏 그것들을 가져왔더라.

And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred [shekels] of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring [them] out by their means.
