맞춤형 소량 인쇄(POD)에 대해서 이야기해 주세요.

맞춤형 소량 인쇄는 다양한 물품에 고객이 원하는 

디자인을 인쇄하는 것을 말한다. 

POD는 티셔츠, 머그잔, 스티커, 공책 등 간단한 

일상용품에 사용 가능하고, 쿠션과 이불, 가구에도 

적용이 가능하다

- Print on Demand, or POD, is a system of printing 

  a small runs of designs specified by clients 

  on various items.                                      

  POD is available on simple, everyday goods like 

  T-shirts, mugs, stickers, and notebooks, and 

  it can even be applied to cushions, bedding, and 

  furniture.

+ specified by clients : 고객이 명시한

                               (=고객에 의해서 명시된)

cf) specify : (구체적으로)명시하다

+ everyday goods : 일상용품

+ apply to 명사 : ~에 적용되다

+ bedding : 침구, 잠자리​

이러한 POD 서비스를 제공하는 기업들이 

우리나라에도 점점 늘어나고 있다. 

또한 자신만의 고유한 디자인을 넣어 제품을 

판매하는 아티스트들도 갈수록 많아지고 있다.

- The number of companies in Korea offering 

   these POD services is on the rise. 

  A growing number of artists are featuring 

  their own unique designs and set out to sell them.

+ on the rise : 올라,오름세에 있는,증가하고 있는

+ a growing number of : 갈수록 많은

+ feature : 특별히 포함하다/특징으로 하다

+ set out to sell : 판매에 나서고 있다. 

cf) set out : 시작하다,착수하다​

나는 태블릿 PC로 그린 그림을 POD 사이트에 올려 

우리 가족을 위한 하나뿐인 티셔츠를 만들었다. 

그리고 연말에는 달력과 스티커를 만들어 지인들에게 

나눠 주었다.

- I uploaded a drawing that I drew using my tablet 

  PC onto a POD site, and created the one and 

  only T-shirt for my family. 

  At year end, I made calendars and stickers, 

  handing out to people I know.

+ one and only : 하나밖에 없는,둘도 없는

cf) one-of-a-kind : 하나밖에 없는, 유례를 찾기 힘든

                         (=unique)

+ hand out : 나누어주다(=give out)​

이렇게 만든 제품들은 세상에 단 하나뿐이어서 

받게 될 때 더욱 특별하게 느껴진다.

-  Products made this way are totally unique, 

   so people feel extra-special when received one.

+ totally unique : 단 하나밖에 없는

+ made this way : 이런 식으로 만들어진(made는 

  과거 분사형으로 앞에 명사 products를 뒤에서 수식)

+ when (they are) received one : 접속사 when 뒤에 

  주어와 be동사를 생략하였음)
