7.16.24 | Joining Jesus Outside the Camp │ Hebrews 13:13 | Pastor Jim Cymbala

Many denominational traditions make [themselves] [the portal of salvation]. 

“Join us. Go /to our church. That’s where it’s at.” 

But true Christianity is not anywhere but outside the city gate, at the cross of Christ. 

Have we met Jesus /there, or are we religious? 

Let’s go /to Him, outside the gate, willing to bear the disgrace () He bore /for us.

* be where it's at ; to be very fashionable and popular:

Many denominational traditions 많은 교파 전통은 make 만든다 [themselves 그들 자신을] [the portal of salvation 구원의 중계소로]. 

“Join us 우리에게 가입하시오. Go /to our church 우리의 교회로 가십시요. That’s where it’s at 그곳이 인기 있는 곳입니다.” 

But 그러나 true Christianity 진정한 기독교는 is not anywhere 어떤 곳에도 없고

but 단지 outside the city gate 성문 밖에 있습니다, at the cross of Christ 그리스도의 십자가에. 

Have we 우리는 met 만난적 있는가 Jesus 예수님을 /there 거기서,

or 아니면 are we 우리는 religious 종교적인가? 

Let’s go 가자 /to Him 그분께, outside the gate 성문/세상 밖으로,

willing 자원하면서 to bear 견디기를 the disgrace 모욕을 (that 그건) He 그분께서 bore 견디신 /for us 우리를 위해.

일요일 날 교회 가서 종교적인 의식을 거행하며 목사님의 성경이나 세상에 대한 견해를 설교로 듣고 집에 와서

종교적인 의무를 다 했다고 자찬하겠지만 그런 종교의식은 바리새인들이 오히려 더 잘했으므로 자랑할게 없고

바리새인이나 불교인도 다 하는 종교 의식이나 선행을 잘하라고 예수님께서 십자가를 지셨다면 어불성설이다
