내 영혼아 여호와를 송축하라 여호와 나의 하나님이여

Praise the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God,

주는 심히 광대하시며 존귀와 권위를 입으셨나이다

you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty.

주께서 옷을 입음 같이 빛을 입으시며 하늘을 휘장 같이 치시며

He wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent

물에 자기 누각의 들보를 얹으시며 구름으로 자기 수레를 삼으시고

and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters.

He makes the clouds his chariot

바람 날개로 다니시며 바람으로 자기 사자를 삼으시며 화염으로 자기 사역자를 삼으시며

and rides on the wings of the wind.

He makes winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants.

땅의 기초를 두사 영원히 요동치 않게 하셨나이다

He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.

주께서 물의 경계를 정하여 넘치지 못하게 하시며

You set a boundary they cannot cross;

다시 돌아와 땅을 덮지 못하게 하셨나이다

never again will they cover the earth.

여호와께서 샘으로 골짜기에서 솟아나게 하시고 산 사이에 흐르게 하사

He makes springs pour water into the ravines; it flows between the mountains.

들의 각 짐승에게 마시우시니 들나귀들도 해갈하며

They give water to all the beasts of the field;

the wild donkeys quench their thirst.

공중의 새들이 그 가에서 깃들이며

The birds of the air nest by the waters;

나뭇가지 사이에서 소리를 발하는도다

they sing among the branches.

저가 그 누각에서 산에 물을 주시니

He waters the mountains from his upper chambers;

주의 행사의 결과가 땅에 풍족하도다.

the earth is satisfied by the fruit of his work.

어떤 사람이 주께 와서 가로되 선생님이여 내가 무슨 선한 일을 하여야 영생을 얻으리이까 예수께서 가라사대 어찌하여 선한 일을 내게 묻느냐 선한 이는 오직 한 분이시니라 네가 생명에 들어 가려면 계명들을 지키라 가로되 어느 계명이오니이까 예수께서 가라사대 살인하지 말라, 간음하지 말라, 도적질하지 말라, 거짓증거하지 말라, 네 부모를 공경하라, 네 이웃을 네 몸과 같이 사랑하라 하신 것이니라 그 청년이 가로되 이 모든 것을 내가 지키었사오니 아직도 무엇이 부족하니이까 예수께서 가라사대 네가 온전하고자 할찐대 가서 네 소유를 팔아 가난한 자들을 주라 그리하면 하늘에서 보화가 네게 있으리라 그리고 와서 나를 좇으라 하시니 그 청년이 재물이 많으므로 이 말씀을 듣고 근심하며 가니라 예수께서 제자들에게 이르시되 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 부자는 천국에 들어가기가 어려우니라 다시 너희에게 말하노니 약대가 바늘귀로 들어가는 것이 부자가 하나님의 나라에 들어가는 것보다 쉬우니라 하신대 제자들이 듣고 심히 놀라 가로되 그런즉 누가 구원을 얻을 수 있으리이까 예수께서 저희를 보시며 가라사대 사람으로는 할 수 없으되 하나님으로서는 다 할 수 있느니라 마태복음 19:16-26

And someone came to Him and said, "Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain eternal life?" And He said to him, "Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments." Then he said to Him, "Which ones?" And Jesus said, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS; HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER; and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." The young man said to Him, "All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?" Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property. And Jesus said to His disciples, "Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. "Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, "Then who can be saved?" And looking at them Jesus said to them, "With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:16-26

영생의 계명 The Commandment of the Eternity

영생을 얻기 위해 무엇을 해야 할지 묻는 청년에게 주께서 처음에 하신 대답은 계명을 지키라는 것이었습니다. 그리고 나열하신 계명들은 십계명 중 중요한 몇 개를 예로 드신 것이 아닙니다. 순서는 다르지만 분명하게 인간들 사이에 지키라 하신 계명들만을 열거하셨습니다. 그리고 이 대답은 온전하지 않음을 바로 느끼게 하였습니다. 청년이 생각하기에도, 우리가 생각하기에도 그러합니다.

청년은 이미 이 계명들을 다 지켜왔기에 그것으로는 부족하다 느꼈고 우리는 마땅히 십계명에 하나님에 대한 계명들이 빠졌다 느낍니다. 그런데 이에 대해 주님이 다시 주신 대답은 의외입니다. 우리는 십계명에서 언급되지 않은 하나님에 대한 계명을 말씀하셔야 할듯한데 주님은 청년에게 가지고 있는 재산을 팔아 가난한 자들에게 주고 주를 따르라고 말씀하십니다. 청년은 부자였기에 근심하면서 돌아갔습니다.

문맥적으로 보면 청년이 처음에 물은 영생과 주님의 대답 중에 나타난 온전함, 그리고 제자들이 다시 물은 구원은 동격으로 다루어지고 있습니다. 그리고 이 대화의 마지막 부분에 이 모든 것이 오직 하나님의 주권에 의해 성취되어짐을 밝히심으로 처음 청년이 자신이 무엇을 해야 할 지를 물은 것과 대비됨을 보이고 있습니다. 즉 복음의 중요한 덕목들은 하나님의 주권에 의해 성취되어짐이 오늘 말씀의 주제입니다.

이제 다시 돌아가서 왜 십계명 중 하나님에 대한 계명들이 다루어지지 않고 있는지와 그것이 어떻게 부자, 즉 소유에 관련되는지를 살펴보겠습니다. 재물은 하나님의 자리를 대체합니다. 이 둘은 인생이 자신의 존재를 인식하는 두 근원입니다. 그래서 주께서도 재물과 하나님을 겸하여 섬길 수 없다고 하셨습니다. 그런데 재물의 문제는 충족함이 없이 늘 배고프게 한다는 점입니다.

이 청년의 허기짐은 단순히 의에 대한 굶주림이 아니었습니다. 그의 근본은 자의에 그 뿌리를 두고 있습니다. 그래서 영생에 이르는 방법을 찾음에 있어서도 자신이 무엇을 해야 할 것이라는 믿음을 벗어나지 못하고 있습니다. 주께서 그에게 소유를 다 팔아 가난한 자에게 주라는 것은 실제 재물을 처분하라는 의미라기보다는 그의 이러한 자의에 근거한 영생론에서 벗어나야 한다는 말씀이셨습니다.

그리고 주를 따라야 한다 하셨습니다. 오늘날 우리는 어떻게 주님을 따를까요? 당시는 주께서 이 땅에 계셨고 사역을 하셨기에 실제로 주님을 따를 수 있었습니다. 하지만 오늘날 모든 사람이 온전하기 위해 사역에 길에 헌신해야 한다고 생각지는 않습니다. 오늘은 생각의 전환이 필요합니다. 즉, 우리가 주님을 따른다는 생각에서 벗어나 주께서 나의 삶에 함께 하시고 동행하심을 인식하는 것입니다. 쉽게 들리지만 그렇지 않습니다.

그리고 온전함이나 주를 따르는 것은 모두 이 땅에 있는 동안에 적용되어야 할 문제임을 생각해 본다면 위에 함께 언급된 영생이나 구원 역시 이 땅에 있는 동안에 성취되어질 문제임을 알 수 있습니다. 하나님에 대한 계명, 즉 하나님을 나의 하나님으로 모시고 섬기는 것은 오직 주께서 내게 오셔서 나와 하나 되심을 알게 될 때 비로소 가능합니다. 그리고 주께서 나의 삶에 동행하실 때 사람들에 대한 계명 역시 지킬 수 있게 됩니다.

The Lord's initial response to a young man who asked Him what he should do to enter eternal life was to keep the commandments. And the commandments listed were not taken as examples of some of the important ten commandments. Although the order was different, Jesus clearly listed only the commands that were kept between humans. And this answer immediately made me feel that it was not intact. The young man and we both think it is.

The young man has already followed all of these commands, so he felt that it was not enough, and we feel that the commandments to God are not included in the Ten Commandments. However, the Lord's answer to this again is unexpected. It seems that we should give the commandments to God that were not mentioned in the Ten Commandments, but the Lord tells the young man to sell his property to the poor and follow the Lord. The young man returned away worried because he was rich.

In context, the young man's initial question of eternity, the integrity that appeared in the Lord's answer, and the salvation that his disciples asked again are treated as equivalents. And at the end of this conversation, by revealing that all of this is accomplished only by God's sovereignty, it contrasts with the first young man asking what he should do. In other words, the subject of today's message is that the important virtues of the gospel are achieved by God's sovereignty.

Let's go back and see why the commandments to God in the Ten Commandments are not being addressed and how they are related to wealth, or possession. Wealth replaces God's place. Life is the two sources of recognition of one's existence. As a result, the Lord also stated that he could not serve both wealth and God. However, the problem with wealth is that it always makes you hungry without satisfaction.

This young man's hunger wasn't just a hunger for righteousness. His roots are in his self righteousness. So he is still not deviating from the belief that he will do what to find a way to eternal life. When the Lord asked him to sell all his possessions to the poor, He meant that he should break away from this theory of eternal life based on his will rather than disposal of actual property.

And He said you should follow the Lord. How do we follow the Lord today? Back then, the Lord was in this land and he was in the ministry, so he could actually follow the Lord. But today, I don't think everyone should commit to the path in their ministry to be intact. Today, we need a change of thought. In other words, it is to move away from the idea that we follow the Lord and recognize that the Lord is with and accompanying me in my life. It sounds easy, but it is not.

And considering that integrity and following the Lord are all issues that must be applied while on this earth, we can see that the eternal life and salvation mentioned above are also issues that will be achieved while on this earth. Only when the Lord comes to me and knows that He is one with me is the commandment to God. And when the Lord accompanies me in my life, I can also observe the commandments to people.
