마1:1   아브라함과 다윗의 자손 예수 그리스도의 세계라

Mat1:1   The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

마1:2   아브라함이 이삭을 낳고 이삭은 야곱을 낳고 야곱은 유다와 그의 형제를 낳고

Mat1:2   Abraham bagat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;

마1:3   유다는 다말에게서 베레스와 세라를 낳고 베레스는 헤스론을 낳고 헤스론은 람을 낳고

Mat1:3   And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;

마1:4   람은 아미나답을 낳고 아미나답은 나손을 낳고 나손은 살몬을 낳고

Mat1:4   And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;

마1:5   살몬은 라합에게서 보아스를 낳고 보아스는 룻에게서 오벳을 낳고 오벳은 이새를 낳고

Mat1:5   And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;

마1:6   이새는 다윗왕을 낳으니라 다윗은 우리야의 아내에게서 솔로몬을 낳고

Mat1:6   And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;

마1:7   솔로몬은 르호보암을 낳고 르호보암은 아비야를 낳고 아비야는 아사를 낳고

Mat1:7   And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;

마1:8   아사는 여호사밧을 낳고 여호사밧은 요람을 낳고 요람은 웃시야를 낳고

Mat1:8   And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;

마1:9   웃시야는 요담을 낳고 요담은 아하스를 낳고 아하스는 히스기야를 낳고

Mat1:9   And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Josias;

마1:10   히스기야는 므낫세를 낳고 므낫세는 아몬을 낳고 아몬은 요시야를 낳고

Mat1:10   And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;

마1:11   바벨론으로 이거할 때에 요시야는 여고냐와 그의 형제를 낳으니라

Mat1:11   And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:

마1:12   바벨론으로 이거한 후에 여고냐는 스알디엘을 낳고 스알디엘은 스룹바벨을 낳고

Mat1:12   And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;

마1:13   스룹베벨은 아비훗을 낳고 이비훗은 엘리아김을 낳고 엘리아김은 아소르를 낳고

Mat1:13   And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;

마1:14   아소르는 사독을 낳고 사독은 아킴을 낳고 아킴은 엘리웃을 낳고

Mat1:14   And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;

마1:15   엘리웃은 엘르아살을 낳고 엘르아살은 맛단을 낳고 맛단은 야곱을 낳고

Mat1:15   And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Mattan; and Matthan begat Jacob;

마1:16   야곱은 마리아의 남편 요셉을 낳았으니 마리아에게서 그리스도라 칭하는 예수가 나시니라

Mat1:16   And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

마1:17   그런즉 모든 대 수가 아브라함부터 다윗까지 열 네 대요 다윗부터 바벨론으로 이거할 때까지 열 네 대요 바벨론으로 이거한 후부터 그리스도까지 열 네 대러라

Mat1:17   So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generation; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

마1:18   예수 그리스도의 나심은 이러하니라 그 모친 마리아가 요셉과 정혼하고 동거하기 전에 성령으로 잉태된 것이 나타났더니

Mat1:18   Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

마1:19   그 남편 요셉은 의로운 사람이라 저를 드러내지 아니하고 가만히 끊고자하여

Mat1:19   Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

마1:20   이 일을 생각할 때에 주의 사자가 현몽하여 가로되 다윗의 자손 요셉아 네 아내 마리아 데려오기를 무서워 말라 저에게 잉태된 자는 성령으로 된 것이라

Mat1:20   but while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

마1:21   아들을 낳으리니 이름을 예수라 하라 이는 그가 자기 백성을 저희 죄에서 구원할 자이심이라 하니라

Mat1:21   And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

마1:22   이 모든 일의 된 것은 주께서 선지자로 하신 말씀을 이루려 하심이니 가라사대

Mat1:22   Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

마1:23   보라 처녀가 잉태하여 아들을 낳을 것이요 그 이름은 임마누엘이라 하리라 하셨으니 이를 번역한즉 하나님이 우리와 함께 계시다 함이라

Mat1:23   Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

마1:24   요셉이 잠을 깨어 일어나서 주의 사자의 분부대로 행하여 그 아내를 데려왔으나

Mat1:24   Then Joseph being raised form sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

마1:25   아들을 낳기까지 동침치 아니하더니 낳으매 이름을 예수라 하니라

Mat1:25   And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

* 계보(γένεσις, 게네시스) ‘되다, 이루어지다’는 뜻을 가진 동사 ‘기노 마이’ 의 명사형. ‘시작, 기원의 역사, 족보’ 란 뜻이다.

* 약혼하고(μνηστεύω, 므네스트오) ‘결혼을 약속하다.’ 당시 유대인들은 대개 결혼 1년 전에 약혼을 했고, 약혼한 사람은 결혼 전이라 해도 율법상 부부로 간주되었다.

* 끊고자 하여(άπολύω, 아폴뤼오) ‘아포’ (~ 로부터) 와 ‘뤼오’ (느슨하게 하다)의 합성어. 책임이나 의무를 면제해 주어 자유롭게 하는 것.

* 예수( ̓Ιησου̑ς, 이에수스) 히브리어 ‘예호수아’의 단축형. ‘구원자’란 뜻. 예수 그리스도의 성육신이라는 목적을 단적으로 보여 주는 호칭.

* 임마누엘( ̓Εμμανουήλ, 엠마누엘) ‘하나님이(엘) 우리와(마누) 함께하심(임)’ 이란 뜻을 가진 히브리어 ‘임마누엘’을 헬라어로 음역한 것.

   하나님께서는 여자인 우리들에게 자손을 낳을 수 있는  특별한 은혜를 주셨습니다.   마리아는  구세주이시며 하나님의독생자 아들 예수그리스도를  낳은 참으로 복된 인생임을 알게 됩니다.

   이 땅에 구세주가 탄생하실 수 있도록 우리와 함께 하신 하나님께 감사와 영광을 올려 드립니다.
