DJ이며 프로듀서인 East Coast Boogiemen은 Ken Christensen과 Juan Zapata로 이루어진
듀오로서 소울풀하며 재즈가 가미된 그러면서도 또한 펑키하며 그루브한 듣는 이들로 하여금 잠시도
춤을 추지 않고는 못베기게하는 가히 혁신적인 하우스음악을 탄생 시킨 장본인들이다.

이들의 이러한 혁신적음악은 각종 매체와 혹은 세계적인 동료 DJ들로부터 극찬을 받고 있다.
까다롭기로 유명한 디제이 Q-Burns Abstract Message는 이들에 대해 '나는 나를 사랑한다
그리고 약간의 East Coast Boogiemen'이라 할정도로 이들의 음악은 실로 폭넓은 층으로 부터
사랑받고 있다. 종종 전세계적으로 유명한 Basement Jaxx나 Groove Armada와 같이 비교 되어
오는 이들은 설명이 필요 없는 가히 놀라운 음악을 선사한다.

Ken Christensen과 Juan Zapata의 천재적인 음악성으로 똘똘 뭉친 그들의 음악은 각종 악기(드럼,
피아노, 베이스, 섹서폰등등)를 현란히 다루는 Ken Christensen의 연주 실력과 그의 다양한 음악에
대한 관심 그리고 아르젠티나에서 태어난 Juan Zapata의 라틴 음악에 기반을 둔 원시적 그러나
인간의 심장 박동수를 자극하는 민속적인 음악이 결합된 실로 펑키함과 그루브함의 결정판이다.

또한 이들의 누구도 상상할수 없는 6대의 턴테이블쇼는 여지껏 아무도 상상하지 못할 흥분 그 자체를
만들어 낸다. 이들의 6대의 턴테이블 쇼와 어우러지는 모든 모든 순간은 펑키함과 그루브함에서 광란

As the celebrated DJ/producer duo East Coast Boogiemen, partners
Ken Christensen and Juan Zapata have been critically acclaimed for their
innovative brand of house music. Mixing smooth horns and lush percussion
with catchy disco riffs and funky vocals the duo create a perfect blend
of sultry, soulful grooves.

Christensen's lifelong involvement with music translates into a versatile
talent for playing a wide range of instruments. A talented drummer, pianist,
bass and sax player, he grew up listening to a variety of music,
from the classic tunes of Motown to the groundbreaking records of early
Chicago house. Christensen's love for dance music was born in the late '80s
through frequent journeys to the underground dance clubs of Philly and New York.

Born in Argentina and raised in Lapaz, Bolivia, Zapata was heavily influenced
by the ethnic Latin music of these countries. Growing up, his musical tastes
were shaped by listening to popular American music such as disco and classic rock
with his family at home in Lapaz.

The pair met in college in Virginia in the spring of 1996. United by their
love of house music and DJ'ing, their collaborative career began at a Halloween
party that fall. After building a loyal following through numerous DC-area gigs,
the pair landed a coveted residency in 1998 at Tracks, Washington's longest-running
nightclub. This residency gave them the widespread exposure that would catapult
them from regional favorites to a nationally renowned act. Their popularity at
Tracks helped them develop a relentless touring schedule that has taken them to
more than 300 events across the continent, with stops from Vancouver to Alaska,
Miami to Los Angeles, and New York to Chicago.

Adopting an unusual setup with six turntables and two mixers, Zapata and
Christensen use their exceptional musical talent to weave diverging elements into
an amazing listening experience. Their extraordinary live performances showcase
their wildly unique, multi-layered sets and on-the-spot remixes, all the while
maintaining an unyielding energy that works dance floors into a frenzy.'

The duo cites diverse musicians as influences, from Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder,
the Fatback Band and Prince, to electronic producers Derrick Carter, Mark Farina
and Larry Levan. Mixing R&B, Latin, disco, funk, soul and salsa with the traditional
sounds of house, the Boogiemen create the ultimate house music
experience: a flawlessly mixed set that never fails to make you dance.

Always looking to take their music to the next level, the twosome began producing
original material in 1998 and rapidly became acclaimed for their top-quality releases.
One of their most popular releases to date has been a remix of the Q Burns Abstract
Message track 'Shame', released on famed electronic music label Astralwerks. The track
was charted by numerous DJs in the US and Europe, and was critically praised as far
away as Japan. Another well-received project was 'Live at M3', released on up-and-coming
DC-area label Monkeystyle. This continuous-mix CD was a live recording of a January 2001
event produced by legendary DC house promoters M3. This was the pair's first CD release
and was met with widespread acclaim. The Boogiemen's latest single, 'Marrying Janie',
stands in distinction as the first release scheduled for Moonshine Music's new vinyl
imprint, RGB. The track generated so much buzz that even before its release Moonshine
artist Dave Aude licensed it for his 'Nocturnal Wonderland' CD. The pioneering efforts
as a part of Moonshine's newest endeavor have received critical acclaim in numerous
outlets, including Billboard magazine.

One of the duo's most highly anticipated releases, the upcoming EP 'Upside Ya Head,'
will be released in February on internationally renowned French house label Brique Rouge.
The release of this track is expected to give the duo even more widespread exposure,
and solidify their presence in the international house music scene.

Wanting to develop an outlet to produce their original work, the duo joined with Zapata's
brother Hugo and longtime friends Brian Kirkbride and Adam Straus to form Tequila
Sound Records in 2001.

'Tequila Sound was made to put out the more complex, more musical kinds of music,'
says Zapata. 'Our goal in the future is to put out quality music on some of the more
underground house labels and to work with some of the producers that we love today. We are
going to work on redefining our sound over and over and over again. After all, you have to
keep yourself fresh; making the same stuff gets old, like spinning the same records.'

The duo has since decided to hand the reins of running the label over to their partners,
in order to focus solely on producing music. 'We DJ because we like to make people dance,'
Christensen says. 'And we put music out in hopes that people will see where we are coming
from, and see the images and times that make up our souls. '

Since the release of their first record in 1998, the pair has been unable to keep up with
the demand for their original work; 2002 the Boogiemen will maintain a prolific release
schedule, look for this year to be their busiest yet.

Biography

Decode is one of the true pioneers and an iconic figure in the electronic music scene of Korea.

It is all started back in 1992 when Decode headed out to New York City for enrollment at
Pratt Art Institute as a film student. His exposure to the fresh new underground party scene of
the city proved to be a turning point in his life.

Then the fetal movement of the new dance music culture of the city in 1992 naturally led him
down the road to become a DJ. Discovering Chicago House legendaries and Decode's interaction
with NYC DJs such as Atom X, Heather Heart, Carlos Terra and many more marked the
beginning of his life as a DJ.

In late 1993 Decode started spinning out primarily at illegal warehouse parties and local club nights.
The same year his involvement with music got deeper as Decode started doing his production
work. He produced numerous tracks under the name 'Autopilot' with Derek Marin (NYC/Lab Dance,
Surreal Reocrds).

In 1997 Decode headed out to San Francisco to attend San Francisco Art Institute for his graduate
studies. There he worked as a video & sound engineer at a prominent electronic music label by the
name of Asphodel for its experiment project STC-Sound Traffic Control. While at Asphodel, Decode's
further exchanges with various producers and engineers helped him expand his knowledge in music,
refining his foundations as a producer.

Decode's numerous attempts over the years to bring electronic music to Korea were not
fruitful. Then in 1997 Decode got his break when Korea's first legendary techno club Sang Su Do
gave him DJ residency. The same year, Decode earned critical acclaim for his production work on
a diva, Lee Yoon Jung's album, 'Jin Hwa-Evolution'. It's not an overstatement to say that Decode
was a forerunner in the efforts of spreading electronic dance music in Korea.

In 1999 Decode founded Innertech Promotion, which composed of talented local DJs, played an
essential role to open up the early party scene in Korea. Through this vessel he planned numerous
parties and performed alongside internationally renown DJs such as Jeff Mills, John Aquaviva,
Bad Boy Bill, Towa Tei, David Alvarado, Eric Davenport, Chales Feel Good, Krush, Paul Bleasdale and
so many more. Throughout, Decode also has been holding residencies at
numerous clubs in Seoul City.

With pumping bumpy warehouse beats and funky baseline as foundation to his sets,
Decode gracefully blends every genres of house music for a progressive expression‎.
His improvised but yet well thought out DJ set surely show his decade of experience
as a DJ and a record collector.

Decode is currently devoted to running Baseline Productions. Through Baseline he is continuously
pushing The Underground House Scene of Seoul city to the limit, organizing the most happening
monthly House event, 'SOFT' and has worked with international talents, such as Jay J, JT Donaldson,
Dizzy (Doubledown), East Coast Boogiemen, Fred Everything, Nav Bhinder (Bombay Records) and etc.

He tours Japan frequently. He is a bi-monthly resident DJ with his fellow
DJ Marshall Boardman (Tokyo/Nuphoria) at Tokyo's renowned club 'La-Fabrique'. In July, 2003,
He will be a part of Roy Davids jr's Asia tour and also he will play at Tokyo's hottest
regular house event Nuphoria's one year anniversary. He also plans to tour New Zealand,
Canada, Lithuania, in 2003. In spite of his busy tour schedule, he manages to keep working
on his music productions. He plans to launch his label world wide by the end of 2003.

DJ Rood has been deejaying since 2001 so that makes him naive in this bussiness ? Absolutely not.
DJ Rood is a rookie with pure talent. Originally he was major in architecture. He would never
think about being a dj before he started working at the famous house club called CLUB TOOL
in Seoul, South Korea. When he first started as a dj he was just one of those o.k. djs
because he hadn't faced the beauty of house music yet. And yet when he had the beauty of house
music it's changed his life since then. His architectural sense gives his music solid and well organized.
His deep and groovy house music fascinates audiences day by day and more and more.

He's been playing with famous djs such as Decode, Marshall Boardman, Nav Bhinder, I:Cube,
JT Donaldson, Jay-J, Fred Everything, Alex from Tokyo, East Coast Boogiemen and he will be
playing with the legendary dj Roy Davis Jr. Currently he is a resident dj of CLUB TOOL.
