“When I was young, I was only looking for martial efficiency. So I had no respect for Aikido. I thought that some joint locks were ok, but that it was mostly fantasy. Therefore, I went into it with a lot of disdain… and got my ass kicked.
It was proven to me by first-hand experience that it could be effective. Not because you’re stronger, faster, or bigger, but because you sharpen your technique and you use particular body mechanics. I then immersed myself into it.
But after years of training…
I came to the conclusion that this (aikido)
is about consciousness. …Everything is clearer because your consciousness is sharpened. Everything you taste and feel is more intense. Thanks to Aikido practice you are more aware in your daily life. Now when I see people of every age practicing aikido and living better because of it, it also brings me great joy.” -Leo Tamaki

■ Harnessing Nature's Energy and Unveiling the Principles of Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu Haedong Kumdo ■
After reading the above content sent by someone in the USA this morning, I attempted to explain the differences in the fundamentals based on Energy Flow that underpin martial arts training for the students of Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu Haedong Kumdo, who are practicing in the global village.
Not only Aikido, but all martial arts must undergo
"Self-Transformation(자기변혁)" through a consciousness of change based on mindfulness and awareness. This is because it brings about individual progress throughout life.
These things can only be realized through "Personal Experience," and "Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu's Ki Mu training" makes that possible. Its training method introduces for the first time in the 21st century through Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu.
It goes beyond tradition and transformation as spoken in Aikido above, as the JSKR-HK clearly illuminates the destination of ultimate martial arts and the ultimate purpose of human life through "self-creation".
The training system of Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu, presented for the first time in the 21st century, is based on the "Ki Mu training system."
Through its fundamental principles, one learns techniques such as Weisukum (외수검), Ssangsukum (쌍수검), and Ssangsukum (쌍검), and so on .
Moreover, through such processes, it fosters consciousness change and innovation, encouraging a life of thinking out of the box.
It aims to create better martial arts training and more enriched and fruitful, and healthy human life for practitioners, which is the goal of Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu Haedong Kumdo training.
Among modern martial arts, there are many systems that systematically utilize the flow of energy.
Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu training enables practitioners, from beginners to advanced, to grasp this flow of energy, forming the Ki Mu-body and learning how it connects to healing through mindfulness and awareness in daily life.
Recognizing the flow of energy ultimately means approaching the essence of energy in nature, which can also be described as recognizing the entity that guides me throughout life.
In other words,
the training system of Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu approaches the entity that guides my lifelong training.
In contrast, the difference between using energy myself with my will: other martial arts and receiving it from nature naturally: Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu HK is as vast as the difference between heaven and earth.
While other martial arts focus on the practitioner being the subject of energy usage, Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu training emphasizes experiencing and acknowledging that nature is the subject and source of energy, from beginner training. This is why there is an emphasis on the principle of "Involuntary Body Movement."
In conclusion, spreading Jinyoung Ssangkum Ryu Haedong Kumdo across various parts of the globe signifies understanding its essence, truth, and principles. It exists at the intersection of skills and philosophy, inevitably leading to healing.
Through the publication of the book titled "Searching for the Forgotten Half in Martial Arts," it dares to claim that this content represents a first in the 21st century.
