Sliding on the ice
We had a light snowfall on the north of Seoul at the night before last.
I didn't know the fact until I arrived at school yesterday because our town had a little rain.
The way from the main building of school to the cafeteria was covered with the snow. The soft sunlight in the morning was melting the snow.
But by the lunch time, the melted snow froze hard owing to the cold weather not abating. Students slipped and fell (half of them did it for fun as if they were children). The shouting was heard here and there. Everyone walked slowly or stumbled not to fall to the ground.
Actually I am good at sliding on the ice. It is very easy for me.
I grew up between brothers. They were very mischievous boys and liked to compete with one another including me. We used to make a bet on who could slide best and furthest on the ice road. Of course, my elder brother always won and I was the last. Without regard to the rank, we enjoyed ourselves playing on the iceroad, fogetting the coldness.
Yesterday, watching students and teachers walk slowly like turtles, I slipped easily there with a broad smile on my face and passed them. They were shouting at me 'wow!...woo ,woo.......' Sure enough, students made much ado on the event they looked at in front of the cafeteria when I went to the class. In their thought , my behavior seemed to be unexpected. On account of it they had an good chance able to tease me until the winter vacation cermony. ^^
Today is much colder than yesterday. The ice might not be melt down during some time though the guards scattered the calcium chloride there to abolish the ice and snow.
I wish students would not happen to slip and fall today.

첫댓글 In winter, in Halifax, I remember sliding all over the place. There were some fun times but when the ice was bumpy, it was hellish. Somehow I still miss it. It's because my heart longs for my loved ones, my family and my close friends. Bundle up well and enjoy the winter scenes misty and everyone!
