COMPETITION SITUATION  ○ Local market for PVC plastic folding doors is dominated by local production. So far, we have not found any trace of foreign made imported products for PVC folding doors. It could be said that local production for PVC folding doors is rather strong in terms of both design, quality and production output. Locally made products are not only for local consumption but also for export. Most of local manufacturers for PVC folding doors produce many kinds of PVC building materials such as PVC panel, plastic partition, plastic ceilings and PVC folding doors. In other words, PVC folding doors would be one category among different kinds of their products.  ○ There are two main kinds of local producers. The first one includes foreign-invested manufacturers, which are usually Taiwanese-invested ones. The second type includes 100% domestic producers.  ○ Products from Taiwanese-invested manufacturers are usually called “good quality products” because it is said that their quality is better and their designs are diversified. However, their prices are usually a bit higher than products that come from 100% domestic producers.  ○ Regarding products that come from 100% domestic producers, they can also be divided into also two different groups. The first group includes big and medium sized companies that produce PVC folding doors carrying their specific brands such as Duc Han, Dong A, Tan Han Vuon. The second group includes small sized and private enterprises that just do the assembling of PVC folding doors from PVC spare parts purchasing from other local plastic manufacturers. One of the popular providers for PVC parts to make PVC folding door is Hoang Ha Plastic Company (http://www.nhuahoangha.com/san-pham-nhua-hoang-ha/vat-tu-cua-hoang-ha/vat-tu-cua-xep.html). According to Hoang Ha Plastic, they used to produce and provide PVC parts for making PVC folding doors to many other small workshops to make complete/finished folding doors. Products from these small sized workshops are cheaper than “branded products” and more flexible in sizes (widths) because they can make the folding doors in according with the preferred width from the customers. Their prices are usually quoted in meter, not in set (for example VND 90,000/m to 175,000/m, depending on the height and quality). The heights are usually fixed, ranging between 1.8 meter to 2.0 meter.  ○ Some common dimension of local products (in sets) include:   - 1.8m (H) x 0.8m (W); 2.0m (H) x 0.8m (W); 2.0m (H) x 1.0m (W); 2.2m (H) x 0.8m (W);   - 1.9m (H) x 0.9m (W)…  ○ Another point that should be also mentioned is that PVC folding doors, which are for local consumption, are usually of limited colors and design because the target customers for the products are usually middle and low-income families. Therefore, price is the first factor for them to consider. As we contacted some foreign-invested manufacturers (Chin Huei, New Han Vuon) and their agents to ask about the folding doors, they said that they only provide limited colors (mint or brown) for local market. Special colors like white, grey or special design like CHF 010 (see below) are usually for export. They can also supply those ones if there is inquiry but the delivery time (order to manufacturing) would be about one month because products for export are usually not available for sales in domestic.  ○ According to an agent level 1 of New Han Vuon, the price of PVC folding door that they sell to secondary agents (usually retailing stores) is about VND175,000/m (USD 8.33/m) including lock set. The price is inclusive of VAT % and delivery fees within Hochiminh City. The two available height dimensions they usually provide include 1.8m and 2.0m. IMPORT TARIFF  ○ For the time being, products under HS Code 3920.61 imported from Korea has to subject to the import tax rate of 0%.
