Summary:
Jesus was arrested and bound by Roman and Jewish authorities. He was first taken to Annas, the father-in-law of Caiaphas, the high priest that year. Caiaphas had previously advised that it was better for one man (Jesus) to die for the people.
Teaching:
“So the Roman cohort, the commander, and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him.”
For example, when politicians take photos with pastors in public squares and even participate in worship services, this represents a union between religion and politics. Such a union is akin to persecuting Jesus and the Church.
These people condemn and pressure anyone who does not align with them. Therefore, it is best for pastors and the holy people of God to refrain from politically motivated words and actions. When religion and the Church form alliances with worldly politicians, they too become part of the world.
The key point here is "collusion." In the crucifixion of Jesus, religion and politics became one. The beast and the harlot in the Book of Revelation also symbolize the union of religion and politics.
Let us always live by faith and speak about the Word and the Holy Spirit.
