    첫댓글 In the snake pic, do you guys see how its eye looks kind of bluish and opaque? That’s because it’s about to shed its skin. Before shedding, snakes’ bodies start producing and circulating lymph fluid between the old and new layers of skin, which makes their eyes turn cloudy like that. And their vision is pretty impaired during this period.
    So I’m guessing that’s why the snake just ran away instead of attacking after Mr. Hong accidentally stepped on it. I got this info from my brother who studied veterinary medicine and owns a pet snake himself as well.

    Even though the black snake is poisonless, he could bite.. This is the shed from Rattlesnake.

    산행이나 야외 활동 중 실수로 뱀을 밟았을 때, 뱀이 정상적인 상태였다면 반사적으로 즉각 물었을 위험이 컸다고 하는데,
    마침 그 뱀이 탈피 직전이라 시야가 가려져 공격 타이밍을 놓치고 도망치는 데 집중했기 때문에 다행히 화를 피할 수 있었던 것이라니 정말 다행이었네요. 그러나 동생이 수의학을 전공하며 애완뱀을 키우고 있다니, 새로운 분야를 처음 알게 되었습니다.
