Bible Reading - Galatians 2:1~10

2:1 Fourteen years later I went up again to Jerusalem, this time with Barnabas. 

14년 후에 나는 이번에 바나바와 함께 예루살렘으로 다시 올라갔다.

I took Titus along also. 나는 또한 디도도 데리고 갔다.

2:2 I went in response to a revelation 나는 계시에 응답하여 (갔다.)

 and set before them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. 

내가 이방인들 중에서 선포하는 복음을 그들 앞에서 제시하려고 갔다.

But I did this privately to those who seemed to be leaders,

그러나 나는 지도자들로 보이는 자들에게 은밀히 이렇게 하였나니

for fear that I was running or had run my race in vain.

내가 달리고 있거나 달려온 것이 헛되지 않을까 두려웠기 때문이다.

2:3 Yet not even Titus, who was with me, 그러나 나와 함께 있었던 디도 조차도

was compelled(강요하다) to be circumcised, even though he was a Greek.

그리스인이었음에도 불구하고 할례를  강요 받지 않아야 했다.

2:4 This matter arose(발생하다. 떠오르다) because some false brothers had infiltrated(침투하다) our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and to make us slaves.

이 문제는 몇몇 거짓 형제들이 우리가 그리스도 예수 안에서 가지고 있었던 자유를 엿보고 우리를 노예로 삼으려고 우리의 대열에 침투했기 때문에 발생했다.

2:5 We did not give in to them for a moment, 우리는 그들에게 잠시도 굴복하지 않았다.

so that the truth of the gospel might remain with you. 복음의 진리가 너희와 함께 머물게 하려고 

2:6 As for those who seemed to be important-- 중요한 것 같은 사람들에게는 

whatever they were makes no difference to me; 그들이 무엇이든 나에게는 아무런 차이가 없다.

God does not judge by external appearance-- 하나님은 겉 모습으로 판단하지 않는다.

those men added nothing to my message. 그 사람들은 나의 메시지에 아무 것도 보태지 못했다.

2:7 On the contrary,(오히려) they saw that I had been entrusted with the task of preaching the gospel to the Gentiles,

그들은 내가 이방인들에게 복음을 전하는 일을 맡았음을 보았다.

 just as Peter had been to the Jews. 마치 베드로가 유대인들에게 했던 것과 같이

2:8 For God, who was at work in the ministry of Peter as an apostle to the Jews, was also at work in my ministry as an apostle to the Gentiles.

유대인의 사도로서 베드로의 사역을 통해 역사하신 하나님께서는 또한 이방인의 사도로서 나의 사역을 통해 역사하셨다.

2:9 James, Peter and John, those reputed(평판이 좋은) to be pillars,

기둥이라 일컬어지는(좋은 평판을 받는) 야고보와 베드로와 요한은

gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship

나와 바나바에게 교제의 오른손을 내밀었다.

when they recognized the grace given to me. 그들이 내게 주어졌던 은혜를 인정했을 때

They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the Jews.

그들은 우리가 이방인들에게 가는 것에 동의했고 그리고 그들은 유대인들에게 가는 것을 동의했다. 

2:10 All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.

그들이 우리에게 요청한 것은 단지 가난한 사람들을 계속 기억해 달라는 것이었고, 이는 내가 꼭 하고 싶었던 일이었다.
