A federal judge is preventing the Trump administration from drastically cutting medical research funding.
The new National Institutes of Health policy would strip research groups of hundreds of millions of dollars to cover so-called indirect expenses of studying Alzheimer's, cancer, heart disease, and other illnesses.
Meanwhile, the Center of Disease Control and Prevention says about 180 employees who were laid off two weeks ago can come back to work.
Emails with the subject line "Read this email imediately", went out to some probationary employees who got termination notices last month.
It said that a February 15 termination notice had been rescinded.
