What is a Cube?

Such a simple question with such a variety of answers.Simply, the Cube is a draft format where you get to play designer and developer. You get to choose your metagame. You choose all of the cards in it. You designate powerful strategies, archetypes, and you decide which ‘foils’ to those strategies you would like to include.

The Cube’s exact origins are unknown. But for myself, it began in June 2005 when I read an incredible article detailing the format. The gist of a cube is this: The Cube is the best cards in Magic, stuffed together, to create incredibly fun experiences. How you create or mold those experiences is up to you. This websit

Tournament Structure

• Modified Swiss-style (45-minute rounds)
• Cube Draft events are 8k tournaments and have a Regular Rules Enforcement Level (REL).
• Non sanction Event
• 8 players will be seated randomly at the draft table immediately prior to drafting.

• Players must bring pen, paper, card sleeves and appropriate counters.

큐브란 무엇인가?

큐브 드래프트는 기본적으로 부스터 드래프트 형식을 취하고 있습니다.
하지만 통상적인 매직 더 게더링 제품인 부스터를 뜯는대신 큐브의 주인이 따로 구성해 놓은 카드 더미에서 각각의 참여자들은 부스터의 형태(15장 랜덤)로 3개씩 골라내어 드랩을 하게 됩니다.

그 이후의 게임룰은 모두 부스터 드래프트와 동일합니다.

큐브 드래프트와 부스터 드래프트의 다른점은 큐브의 주인이 어떤식으로 카드풀을 만들었느냐 입니다.
통상적으로 큐브는 각색을 일정비율로 조작하며, 큐브에 따라 여러 가지 테마와 특징을 가지고 있습니다.

각각 큐브의 공통점은 360장~800장의 카드로 구성되며, 중복되는 카드는 없습니다.

자신의 큐브를 가지고 있는 분은 따로 토너먼트전에 연락주시면, 이벤트에 사용 가능합니다.

토너먼트 체계

• 스위스 라운드 (라운드당 45분)
• 큐브 드래프트는 8k 보통 환경의 토너먼트 REL으로 진행합니다.(비공인)
• 비공인 이벤트 입니다.
• 드랩전에 8명의 플레이어는 드래프트 테이블에 랜덤하게 배치 됩니다.

준비물

• 참가자는 펜, 종이, 카드슬리브와 필요한 만큼의 카운터를 준비 해야합니다.
• 룰을 숙지해야합니다.
