Sungkyunkwan, IBM Korea to foster software specialists

Sungkyunkwan University has teamed up with IBM Korea to cultivate software specialists.

For this, the university signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the company on academic-industrial cooperation and exchanges on Feb. 5.

"In accordance with the MOU, our university will actively cooperate with IBM Korea to conduct research on IoT and artificial intelligence software," said Sungkyunkwan University President Chung Kyu-sang. "We will make concerted efforts to foster IT specialists."

IBM Korea will provide Sungkyunkwan with the IBM Bluemix, a cloud platform supporting several programming languages and services. "We will work together with Sungkyunkwan to help students develop new software programs," a company manager said.

IBM, an America-based multinational technology and consulting corporation, has partnered with more than 6,000 universities and colleges throughout the world. More than 3 million students have benefited from its partnership programs.

"Apart from Sungkyunkwan, we will expand academic-industrial cooperation with more local universities," said IBM Korea Vice President Kim Won-jong. "I believe our technical support will contribute to the development of the nation's software industry."

IBM runs a global program called IBM Academic Initiative for college and university students and professors to promote academic-industrial collaboration.

The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning selected Sungkyunkwan as a software-focused university last year for its efforts to nurture software experts.

양해각서을 지난 2월 5일에 체결하였다.

이 MOU 에 의하면, 성균관대학교는 차세대

먹거리인 IOT 와 ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

SOFTWARE [ 인공정보 스프트웨어 분야 ] 산업

연구개발에 적극적으로 협력할 것이라 한다.

IBM 사는 미국의 다국적 기업으로 세계기술및

콘솔팅회사로써, 세계 6천개의 대학과 연구개발

을 하고 있으며, 3 백만명의 교수및 학생들에게

여러가지 재정적 뒷받침과 자체내의 소프트

프로그램을 지원하고 있고, 반면

성균관대학교는 삼성 그룹의 소유로 세계대학

순위 10위권을 목표로 막대한 재정적 지원을

하고 있다.  전자 소프트분야, 생명과학, 화학, 의과,물리 등등에서, 세계대학으로 발전하기위하여 영어식 강의을 하고 있으며, B 학점이상은 여러가지 형태의 장학금을 주고있고, 기숙사 시설 및 연구실등에 엄청난 투자을 하고 있다.

상기 IBM 회사하고의 산학협력은 이러한 과정및 결과중의 하나라고 이야기한다.

especially than wasting time on local useless political issues !
