<오늘의 결단>
<결단의 기도>
Lord, Speak. Your Servant Is Listening.
When God called Samuel, Samuel did not put his own thoughts or judgments first. He responded, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”
This was more than a willingness to hear God's words with his ears. It was a confession of surrender—a willingness to place his life before the Word of God.
We often desire to hear the Lord's voice, yet we sometimes refuse to surrender our own plans and wait for God to approve what we have already decided. True spiritual growth begins not with what we say to God, but with our willingness to listen to what God says to us.
Oswald Chambers writes:
“When your self is broken and shattered, the witness of the Spirit will surely appear. It is the testimony: ‘I have been crucified with Christ.’”
The breaking of self does not simply mean lowering ourselves or pretending to be humble. It means acknowledging that Jesus Christ, not ourselves, is the Lord of our lives. Our stubbornness and self-centeredness are brought to the Cross, and the life of Christ begins to be manifested in us.
Galatians 2:20 declares this truth:
“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.”
The true witness of the Holy Spirit does not demonstrate how strong we are, but how clearly Christ is revealed in us.
May Samuel's confession become our confession today:
“Speak, Lord. Your servant is listening.”
May our self-centeredness be broken before His Word, our stubbornness be surrendered, and our lives be placed under the sovereign lordship of Christ.
Faith is not using God to accomplish what we want; it is offering ourselves to God so that His will may be accomplished. When we are crucified with Christ, Christ lives in us. When we surrender our own rights, His will becomes evident through our lives.
May we lay down our self-centeredness at the Cross today and live through the life of Christ.
<Today's Resolution>
“Lord, I surrender my thoughts and stubbornness. I entrust myself completely to You, so that Christ may live in me.”
<Prayer of Commitment>
Lord, help me hear Your voice as You call me today. Crucify my pride and self-centered thoughts, and teach me to confess that Jesus Christ, not myself, is the Lord of my life. Let my life no longer be my own, but let Christ live in me. May the witness of the Holy Spirit be clearly manifested in my words, actions, and daily life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
