The Voice of the Lord in a Storm

Honor the Lord, you heavenly beings
honor the Lord /for his glory and strength.

Honor 경의를 표하라 the Lord 주님께, you 너희들 heavenly beings 천상의 천사들아
honor 경의를 표하라 the Lord 주님께 /for his 그분의 glory 영광과 and strength 권능을 인하여.

* A being is any living creature, a person, Being also refers to the state of existing.

* 명사+ly=형용사 ; heavenly ; of, belonging to, or coming from the heaven of God, the angels, etc ;

* 29:1 Hebrew you sons of God.;

1 All you angels in heaven,
honor [the glory and power of the Lord]!

1 All you 너희 모든 angels 천사들아 in heaven 천상의,
honor 경의를 표하라 [the glory 영광과 and strength 권능에게 of the Lord 주님의]!

* 호격(呼格, vocative case) used for nouns or noun phrases when these are addressed directly.

  문장에서 체언이 독립적으로 쓰여 부르는 말의 역할을 하게 하는 격으로 한글은 호격조사가 쓰이나 ; 천사들이여

  영어는 호격을 컴마로 분리하여 부르는 이름인 것을 알 수 있다

* 29.1 angels: Or “supernatural beings” or “gods.”

* 하나님께서 주님을 존중하라고 명령하시며 이름을 경홀히 여기지 말라고 십계명에조차 명시한 것은

  피조물 신분인 우리가 당연히 해야 할 의무이고 인간 사회에서조차 존중/존경은 인간관계상 필수불가결한 요소인데

  한인 피조물이 예수님 이름에서 존칭어인 "님"을 빼고 호칭하는 것은 천인공노할 disrespect 무례무식 무법불법이고

  존칭어를 쓴다 해도 진심진정 존경존중 없이 호칭한다면 실언허언 망언망상에 사무치는 위선탈선이 아니면 무엇?

Honor the Lord /for the glory of his name.
Worship [the Lord in the splendor of his holiness].

Honor 경의를 표하라 the Lord 주님께 /for the glory  영광을 인하여 of his name 그분의 이름의.
Worship 경배하라 [the Lord 주님을 in the splendor 찬란하신 of his holiness 그분의 거룩하심으로].

* 목적인 명사구, the Lord /in the splendor /of his holiness

* 형역전구  in the splendor of his holiness

* splendor ;  great brightness or luster : brilliancy.

2 Honor [the wonderful name of the Lord],
and worship [the Lord most holy and glorious].

and worship 경배하라 [the Lord 주님을 most 가장 holy 거룩하시고 and glorious 영광스러우신].

The voice of the Lord echoes /above the sea.
The God of glory thunders.
The Lord thunders /over the mighty sea.

The voice 목소리는 of the Lord 주님의 echoes 울려 퍼진다 /above the sea 바다 위에.
The God of glory 영광의 하나님께서 thunders 천둥치신다.
The Lord 주님께서 thunders 천둥치신다 /over the mighty sea 막강한 바다 위로.

* 동사로 쓰인 echoe : to fill a space, area, etc., with sounds and especially with echoes 울림으로 가득하다

3 The voice of the Lord echoes /over the oceans.
The glorious Lord God thunders /above the roar of the raging sea,

* 천둥같이 굉음으로 울리는 하나님의 목소리는 이스라엘 사람들의 간담을 서늘하게 하신 시내산의 목소리이기에

   이스라엘 백성들 누구나 죽을 것 같이 두렵고 떨려서 모세에게 대신 듣고 말하라고 애걸할 정도였으니

   시내산에서 모세가 받은 율법 아래 있는 모든 이들은 이런 목소리의 심판의 하나님을 만날 것이나

   은혜 아래 있는 신자들은 성자 하나님 예수님의 고요하신 음성을 듣고 따른다

* 참고  Isaiah adds that the servant will not quarrel or cry out. Nobody will hear His voice in the streets. 

In other words, the servant is gentle and humble, not putting effort into calling attention to Himself. (Isaiah 42:1–3)

The voice of the Lord is powerful;
the voice of the Lord is majestic.

The voice 음성은 of the Lord 주님의 is powerful 강력하시다;
the voice 음성은 of the Lord 주님의 is majestic 장엄하시다.

* MAJESTIC : large and impressively beautiful. 장엄한

having the quality of causing you to feel great admiration and respect for it because of its size, power, or beauty:

4 and his voice is mighty and marvelous.

4 and his voice 그분의 목소리는 is mighty 막강하시고 and marvelous 경이로우시다.

* MARVELOUS : extremely good or enjoyable wonderful.

[The voice of the Lord] splits [the mighty cedars];
the Lord shatters [the cedars of Lebanon].

[The voice 음성은 of the Lord 주님의] splits 쪼개신다 [the mighty cedars 거대한 소나무를];
the Lord 주님께서는 shatters 산산조각 내신다 [the cedars of Lebanon 레바논의 백향목들을].

the Cedars of Lebanon ; Lebanese cedar, a part of the pine family, 레바논 백향목 ; 향기 나는 거대한 소나무
 the first of trees (1 Kings 4:33). strong and durable (Isaiah 9:10), graceful and beautiful (Psalm 80:10, Ezekiel 17:23),

high and tall (Amos 2:9, Ezekiel 17:22), fragrant (Song of Songs 4:11) and spreading wide (Psalm 80:10-11).

* 말씀으로 폭풍도 잠재우시고 말씀의 기운으로 불법자 악귀들도 죽이시는데 거대한 소나무쯤이랴하겠는데

  이 거대한 소나무는 하늘 아래 모미이는 태산의 한 귀퉁이에 선 대단히 거만오만 교만천만한 세상 사람들을 상징한다 봄

the desert near Kadesh shivers and shakes.

and strips [the forests] [bare].
In his Temple everyone shouts, “Glory!”

and strips 벗겨버리신다 [the forests 숲을] [bare 벌거숭이로].
In his Temple 그분의 성전에서 everyone 모든 이들이 shouts 외친다, “Glory 영광이여!”

* 29:9 Or causes the deer to writhe in labor.

9 The voice of the Lord makes [deer] [give birth] before their time.
Forests are stripped /of leaves,
and the temple is filled /with shouts of praise.

The Lord rules over [the floodwaters].
The Lord reigns /as king /forever.

king of the flood

* 29.10 king of the flood: In ancient times the people of Israel believed that a mighty ocean surrounded all of creation,

and that God could release the water to flood the earth. forever.

* 참조 David rightly perceived the Lord as sovereign over the Mediterranean Sea—this psalm seems to be

The Lord blesses [them] /with peace.
