O LORD, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy

    주의 진실과 의로 내게 응답 하소서

     in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief.

주의 종에게 심판을 행치마소서

Do not bring your servant into judgment

    주의 목전에는 의로운 인생이 하나도 없나이다

     for no one living is righteous before you.

원수가 내 영혼을 핍박하며 내 생명을 땅에 엎어서 나로 죽은 지 오랜 자 같이 흑암한 곳에 거하게 하였나이다

The enemy pursues me, he crushes me to the ground; he makes me dwell in darkness like those long dead.

    그러므로 내 심령이 속에서 상하며 내 마음이 속에서 참담하니이다

    So my spirit grows faint within me; my heart within me is dismayed.

내가 옛날을 기억하고 주의 모든 행하신 것을 묵상하며 주의 손의 행사를 생각하고

I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all

your works and consider what your hands have done. 

    주를 향하여 손을 펴고 내 영혼이 마른 땅 같이 주를 사모 하나이다

    내 영혼을 환난에서 끌어 내소서

    For your name's sake, O LORD, preserve my life;

    in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble.

주의 인자하심으로 나의 원수들을 끊으시고

In your unfailing love, silence my enemies

    내 영혼을 괴롭게 하는 자를 다 멸하소서 나는 주의 종이니이다.

예수께서 사두개인들로 대답할 수 없게 하셨다 함을 바리새인들이 듣고 모였는데 그 중에 한 율법사가 예수를 시험하여 묻되 선생님이여 율법 중에 어느 계명이 크니이까 예수께서 가라사대 네 마음을 다하고 목숨을 다하고 뜻을 다하여 주 너의 하나님을 사랑하라 하셨으니 이것이 크고 첫째 되는 계명이요 둘째는 그와 같으니 네 이웃을 네 몸과 같이 사랑하라 하셨으니 이 두 계명이 온 율법과 선지자의 강령이니라  마태복음 22:34-40

But when the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered themselves together. One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" And He said to him, " 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' "This is the great and foremost commandment. "The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets." Matthew 22:34-40

어떤 이들은 십계명은 이미 지난 구시대의 것이라고 생각하기도 합니다. 분명 그러합니다. 십계명이 주어진 것은 모세 당시이니 이미 수천년이나 지났고 당시의 시대와 현대는 복잡성이나 가치관이 달라졌을 것입니다. 하지만 하나님의 말씀은 시대를 초월하여 모든 시대와 오늘에도 직접 동일하게 말씀하신다는 것이 우리의 고백입니다. 오늘 말씀을 통하여 몇 가지의 오해를 풀고 가기를 바랍니다.

첫째, 언약은 좋은 것, 계명은 짐이 되는 것이라는 생각입니다. 왜냐하면 언약은 무언가를 주신다는 표현인데 비해 계명은 하라, 하지 말라는 식이기 때문입니다. 하지만 이 둘은 하나입니다. 우선 주께서 말씀하신 첫 번째 계명의 표현을 살펴보면 “네 마음을 다하고 목숨을 다하고 뜻을 다하여 주 너의 하나님을 사랑하라.”라고 하십니다. 이는 마땅하지만 이를 실제로 순종하고자 조금만 노력해 본다면 이 표현이 결코 이룰 수 없다는 것을 발견하게 됩니다.

이는 불가능한 것을 문자적으로 지키려고 애쓰다가 결국 우리는 죄인임을 깨닫게 하려는 것이 아닙니다. 접근 방식을 바꿔야 합니다. 이것이 계명을 언약으로 인식해야 하는 이유입니다. 아브라함은 하나님께 언약을 받은 후 자신의 수고와 노력으로 이를 이뤄 드려야 할 줄 알았습니다. 하지만 하나님께서 언약을 주실 때 그것은 하나님께서 친히 하나님의 때에 하나님의 능력으로 성취하십니다. 이를 믿는 것이 아브라함의 의였습니다. 이는 계명에 대해서도 동일합니다.

불가능한 표현에는 그 성취의 주체가 하나님이시라는 의미가 담겨 있습니다. 마음을 다하여 하나님을 사랑하라는 표현이 그러하고 항상 기뻐하라, 무시로 기도하라 등도 그러합니다. 이는 하나님의 은혜로 친히 이루어주신다는 뜻입니다. 별개의 설명이 필요하지만 이러한 이해가 우리는 아무 것도 하지 않아도 된다는 뜻은 아닙니다. 아브라함에게 하나님의 언약이 성취 될 때 거기에는 아브라함과 사라의 전적 참여가 있었습니다.

둘째, 계명의 내용입니다. 주께서 본문에 언급하신 두 계명은 실은 십계명 전체입니다. 즉 십계명 전체는 사랑이라는 말씀입니다. 삶에서 경험하듯이 사랑은 의무 조항이 아닙니다. 물론 사랑하는 사람들 사이에서도 지켜야할 도리들이 있지만 그보다는 생명의 공유의 성격이 우선된다고 봅니다. 하나님에 대한 사랑과 이웃에 대한 사랑도 그러합니다. 조항들을 지켜서 사랑에 이르는 것이 아니라 존재적 사랑에 이르면 그런 조항들이 자연스럽게 지켜지는 것입니다.

그러므로 이 모든 계명의 준수, 혹은 언약의 성취는 그리스도께서 내게 오셔서 내주하시고 내가 주 안에 있는 연합의 상태에서 비로소 가능한 것입니다. 그리스도께서 자신에게 오셔서 내주하심을 아는 이들은 한 생명으로 연합한 것입니다. 이 사실이 깨달아질 때 우리가 한 몸이라는 표현이 이해될 것입니다.

Some people believe that the Ten Commandments are from the old era. This is true. Thousands of years have passed since Moses was given the Ten Commandments, and their complexity and values must have changed between the times and the present. However, it is our confession that God's words are timeless and directly speak the same in all eras and today. Through today's words, I hope you will clear up some misunderstandings.

First, the idea is that a covenant is a good thing, and a commandment is a burden. Because a covenant is an expression‎ of giving something, but a commandment is a do or don't. But these two are one. First of all, if you look at the expression‎ of the first commandment that the Lord said, "Love your God with all your heart, with all your life and with all your will." This is right, but if you try a little to obey it, you will find that this expression‎ can never be achieved.

This is not to try to keep the impossible literally and realize that we are sinners in the end. We need to change our approach. This is why commandments should be recognized as covenants. After receiving the covenant from God, Abraham knew that he would have to fulfill it through his own efforts and efforts. But when God gives a covenant, it is accomplished by God's power in his own time. It was Abraham's will to believe in this. This is the same for commandments.

The impossible expression‎ means that God is the subject of the achievement. Such is the expression‎ to love God with all your heart, and so is always happy, and pray with ignorance. This means that God's grace will make it happen. A separate explanation is needed, but this understanding does not mean that we don't have to do anything. When the covenant of God was fulfilled to Abraham, there was the full participation of Abraham and Sarah.

Second, the commandments are in fact the entire Ten Commandments. In other words, the Ten Commandments are all about love. Love is not a mandatory provision, as you experience in life. Of course, there are ways to protect among loved ones, but I believe that the shared nature of life takes precedence. So is love for God and love for neighbors. When you reach existential love, rather than by observing the provisions, they are naturally observed.

Therefore, the observance of all these commands, or the fulfillment of the covenant, can only be achieved in the state of union in which Christ comes to me and gives it to me. Those who know that Christ has come to them and gives it to them are united as one life. When this fact is realized, it will be understood that we are one body.
