Summary:
God's wrath is revealed against those who suppress the truth through unrighteousness. Although God's nature and power are clearly seen in creation, people chose not to honor or thank Him. Instead, their thinking became futile, their hearts darkened, and they turned to idolatry—worshiping created things instead of the incorruptible God.
Teaching:
Christianity is classified as one of the religions, but it is different from other religions—Christianity is the truth. God's Word reveals what can be known about Him through the Bible. In contrast, other religions have “exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible mankind, of birds, four-footed animals, and crawling creatures.”
Religion and mythology create dead gods. The difference between a dead god and the living God is that the living God rules over this world and over us. That is why we must follow Him.
But a dead god is one created by people. Following a dead god means pursuing what people think, understand, and decide—rather than submitting to God.
All ungodliness and unrighteousness of people comes from those who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.
