  No. 19 : Ye-mo(禮貌,예모 - Polite Demeanor)... Showing etiquette and proper manners... Article 254.  

움직임에 있어 禮貌(예모)를 갖추는 것은 사람의 일에 순응함이다.

 Maintaining courteous demeanor in one′s actions means conforming to humqn affairs.  

사람이 禮貌(예모)를 갖추면 말을 하지않아도 어지러움을 풀고 완강하고 사리에 어긋난 것이 감히 방자하게 하지 못하고
어진 사람들이 스스로 멀리에서 찾아오게 된다.

 When a person embodies courteous demeanor, even without speaking, confusion is resolved,

  stubbornness and unresaonableness dare not act presumptuously,

  and virtuous individuals will naturally come seeking them from afar.

動有禮貌者는 順人事也라 (동유례모자는 순인사야라)

  One who exhibits proper decorum in action is in harmony with human affairs.

人有禮貌則不言而可解紛하여 (인유례모즉불언이가해분하여)

  If person possesses proper decorum, disputes can be resolved even without speaking,

頑悖不敢肆하고 賢良이 自遠至니라. (완패불감사하고 현량이 자원지니라.)

  The stubbrn and perverse dare not act recklessly,

  and virtuous scholars will naturally arrive from afar.
