Summary:
Paul warns that those who judge others are also guilty because they practice the same sins. God's judgment is based on truth and is impartial. People cannot escape God's righteous judgment just because of their heritage or knowledge of the law. God’s kindness is meant to lead to repentance, but stubbornness and an unrepentant heart will result in wrath. In the end, God will judge everyone—Jews and Gentiles alike—according to their deeds, and He shows no partiality.
Teaching:
Today’s passage says that God judges according to truth and His righteousness. Truth refers to God’s Word—His Word is the standard by which He judges.
Those who condemn others while committing the same sins will not escape God’s judgment. Yet God allows such people to continue for a time—this is His forbearance and patience, giving them a chance to return to Him.
"WILL REPAY EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS."
This means God does not show favoritism, not even to the Jews. He does not save based on appearance, heritage, or ethnicity.
God looks at the heart. To receive reward before Him, we must accept His Word of righteousness, obey it, acknowledge our sins, repent, change, and live according to His righteous Word.
