Commentary on John2 (2)
The building temple was like teaching a calf with a picture of a calf, a shadow of the good thing to come.
However, when a real calf appears, it would be difficult to claim that it is a calf based on the picture.
In front of Jesus Christ, who came as a human being with the full word of God, the Jews who rush to kill him to protect temple are like shoveling before a bulldozer.
When the time comes that the Lord speaks of, the temple is merely a stage setting that must be destroyed without leaving a single stone behind.
Now that the original has arrived, the model must be dismantled.
In Jesus' view, it is the visible temple of stone that is interfering with the temple of the body.
So, his Father's house is a house of prayer for all people, and in order to restore it, he judges the stone temple. (John 2:13-16)
Even though the substance has come, the shadow is covering the substance, so the shadow has been removed.
The consciousness that God was present in this stone temple that Herod had been building for 46 years for a political show was dominating Israel at that time.
The glory of God did not rest anywhere except the portable tent of Moses and the built-in Temple of Solomon.
The glory of God comes upon the Ark of the Covenant, but if there is no Ark of the Covenant, how can the glory of God come among the cherubim?
Since the stone temple built with the golden dome was blocking the Lord's will to come into human beings and build a body temple, He declared, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up” (John 2:19).
In 70 AD, the words of the Lord were realized in history by Rome.
We are now talking about the Third Temple, but that temple has nothing to do with us.
Christ, the substance of the Ark of the Covenant, enters into us, and each of us becomes a royal priest, worshiping God in the Holy Spirit and truth anytime and anywhere (ubiquitous).
Again, we no longer need a temple of stone or brick.
Therefore, the current title of the church is good, such as chapel or church, but it is not appropriate to call the building a temple.
Is he a Levite?
If you insist, you will have to be prepared to take responsibility for changing the sign leading to the temple.
The Third Temple that Israel is currently trying to build will only be a place where the high priest declares that they were wrong and that Christ is the Messiah.
"When he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the table; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandies."(John 2:15-16)
This is a violent coup against the Jewish Temple.
Stephen was stoned to death because he attacked the temple, and there is no way that Jesus' actions like this could be tolerated by Jews under the law.
That is why the disciples remembered the words in the Bible: Zeal for the house of the Lord will consume me (Psalm 69:9).
The Jews killed Jesus to protect the stone temple, and Jesus Christ died on the cross to clean up the legacy of Adam in order to build a physical temple.
The crucifixion of Christ was an incident in which the zeal for protecting the temple collided with each other.
It was only after Christ was risen from the dead that the disciples understood the meaning of these words and believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said (John 2:22).
It is said that only after those who died in Adam were resurrected in Christ did they realize that they were born again and received eternal life because Christ was in them, and that their bodies became temples in which the Holy Spirit dwells.
This happened just three days later.
The term 'temple' is being circulated to refer to the fact that it is designated as a holy place and used as a place for worship, but if people continue to have the consciousness that God is enthroned there, this is in direct conflict with the will of Jesus Christ.
If you look at Isaiah 66, it says that there is no house in heaven or on earth where God can reside.
God does not dwell in houses built with human hands.
However, he said early on that he would be in those who long for him and hear his word.
If we do it wrong, we may use words like temples and end up becoming synagogues that only talk about the concept of a temple rather than a living gathering of boby temples where the Holy Spirit actually resides.
These days, the word of God is being spread by establishing small ranches through attic meetings and cell meetings.
More and more meetings are held in cells rather than in large buildings.
This is the time when we become the body temple where the Holy Spirit dwells, so we are connected to Christ, the head, and have the ladder of heaven that ascends and descends with the Holy Spirit of truth and say, “I am the church.”
In the early church, Jesus declared judgment on the temple, and in 70 AD, the stone temple was completely demolished by the Roman army, so Jews gathered in synagogues.
And the gospel that Paul preached was not preached in the temple, but in this synagogue.
As the visible stone temple destroyed, fellowship of the Word, koinonia, began to take place.
Here, God is present, seating, and receiving worship.
God is present in any gathering where even two or three people properly call His name (Matthew 18:20).
God considers His children, who have become members of the heavenly family in Jesus Christ, as a special possession.
These are God's inheritance and a praise of glory.
These are the ones who have a way that reaches heaven.
