What are some psychological facts that are true but nobody seems to believe?
Penis Envy! Thank Sigman Freud for that. He meant it mostly in relation to women towards men. But he did a little bit of writing in terms of sons towards fathers during childhood.
I think that with the rise of feminism, this concept was perceived as insulting and denigrating. Although I have read some writing that can appreciate the concept symbolically, and which suggests the women are trained to envy the penis. Anyway, that concept got dropped pretty much like a lot of Freids concepts to make him more palatable & politically correct.
I’m not gonna get into what women feel or what they don’t feel because I’m not a woman. I am an LGBTQ, gender, queer elder, and I have got to tell you that the concept of penis envy is alive and well in an absolutely obsessive way in the male gay community.
I really dare anybody to refute that.
now there is another concept that really doesn’t get discussed very much and that Freud never wrote about I don’t think which is vagina envy by men.
now that anal eroticism is becoming more cool for straight men in terms of their own rear end we see this fantasy coming up big time.
The whole pegging revolution.
now to take a quick little dive into Jan psychology, you felt that we had a male and female side and each sex yearned to have the sex organs of the other sex. And often times would dream or fantasize about hermaphrodite figures.
and this all really goes back to Plato, who I believe in the symposium describes how male and female were once one giant circle that got split in half.
pardon me for Carina through a lot of material very very very very quickly. You’re going to have to unpack it yourself which is easily done by googling different things I have mentioned. You’re going to find an entire world.
this might end up being a strange or provocative answer to your question. When asking questions and wishing for answers… Be careful what you wish for. Lol.
