안녕하세요, 제 이름은 에모리 핀 콜리어-헤젤(Emory Finn Collier-Hezel)입니다. 하지만 그냥 에모리라고 불러 주세요. “에모리”는 “집의 힘”과 “근면한 리더”라는 뜻이 있다고 하는데, 제가 정확히 그런 사람인지는 잘 모르겠어요—인터넷에서 찾아봤거든요. 저는 미국 뉴욕 출신이지만, 지금은 서울 사당역 근처에 살고 있습니다. 현재 저는 영어 선생님이고 주말에는 바텐더로 일하고 있습니다.

2. 혈액형과 성격/가장 기억에 남는 에피소드
저는 제 혈액형을 모릅니다. 아마 알아야 할 것 같긴 한데요. 성격은 outgoing하고 친근한 사람이라고 할 수 있을 것 같아요. 다만, 제 한국어가 아직 많이 부족해서 그게 좀 어려운 부분도 있네요.

3. 닮은 연예인
한국에서는 사람들이 저를 티모시 샬라메(Timothée Chalamet)랑 닮았다고 하는데, 저는 잘 모르겠어요. 개인적으로는 스파이더맨 첫 번째 영화에서 그린 고블린 역할을 했던 윌리엄 데포(William Dafoe)와 닮았다고 생각해요, 특히 그가 젊었을 때.

4. 내가 살사를 시작한 이유
저는 어느 날 친구와 함께 살사 클럽에 갔다가 살사를 시작하게 되었어요. 친구가 춤추는 모습을 보고 그 분위기가 정말 좋다는 걸 느꼈고, 춤추고, 마시고, 좋은 시간을 보내는 그 에너지에 완전히 반했어요.

5. 취미/특기
저의 특기이자 취미는 스탠드업 코미디입니다. 3년 정도 해왔는데, 한국에 오고 나서는 시간이 많이 부족해졌어요. 언어 장벽과 다른 유머 스타일 때문에 일관되게 할 수 있는 게 어렵습니다.
 
6. 음식 추천 또는 맛집
대만 여행 중에 대만식 아침을 처음 먹어보고 "단빙"에 푹

 빠졌습니다. 제가 먹어본 아침 중에 최고였어요. 개인적으로는 미국식 아침보다 더 맛있다고 생각하는데, 아무 미국인은 저를 믿지 않을 거예요. 한국에서는 찾기가 힘들어서 결국 제가 직접 만들어 먹었어요. 만약 대만에 가거나 한국에서 찾게 되면 꼭 먹어보세요.

7. 좋아하는 것/싫어하는 것
저는 버거, 피자, 칼국수, 비빔면을 좋아해요. 사실 먹는 것, 요리하는 것 모두 좋아합니다. 또한, 좋은 날에는 편의점 밖에서 술 마시며 좋은 대화를 나누는 걸 좋아해요.
스트레스 받는 것, 숙취가 있는 것, 그리고 반복적인 일상 속에 있는 걸 싫어합니다.

9. 지금까지 기억에 남는 살세로와 살세라
특별히 기억에 남는 사람은 없지만, 한 번 자유롭게 춤을 췄던 사람이 있었어요. 그 사람과의 에너지와 연습이 정말 좋았어요.

저에게 가장 즐거운 순간은 수업 끝날 때 루틴을 실수 없이 끝낼 수 있을 때입니다.

1.Nickname/Meaning of Nickname/Name/Where You Live/What You Do
Hello, my full name is Emory Finn Collier-Hezel, but just call me Emory. Apparently, “Emory” means “home strength” and industrious leader, but I’m not totally sure if that pertains to me—I just looked it up online. I’m originally from New York, USA, but now I live near Sadang Station in Seoul. I’m currently an English teacher and a bartender on the weekends.

2. Blood Type and Personality/Most Memorable Episode
I don’t know my blood type, but I probably should. As for my personality, I’d describe myself as outgoing and friendly, though it can be hard when my Korean is still very basic.

3. A Look-Alike Celebrity
In Korea, people often say I look like Timothy Chalamet, but I’m not so sure about that. Personally, I think I resemble William Dafoe (the Green Goblin actor from the first Spider-Man movie), especially when he was younger

4. The Reason I Started Salsa
I started salsa after going to a salsa club with a friend one night. I watched him dance and saw how great the vibe was—I absolutely fell in love with the energy and the idea of dancing, drinking, and having a good time

5. Hobby/Specialty
My specialty and hobby is stand-up comedy. I’ve been doing it for about three years, though since I moved to Korea, I’ve had less time to perform. The language barrier and different humor styles make it difficult to do it consistently here.

6. Food Recommendation or Restaurant
Ever since I traveled to Taiwan and tried Taiwanese breakfast, I’ve been hooked on “Danbing”—the best breakfast I’ve ever had. In my opinion, it’s better than an American breakfast, though no American will believe me. I’ve looked everywhere in Korea to find it but had no luck, so I ended up making it myself. If you ever travel to Taiwan or find it in Korea, you must try it.

7. What I Like/Don’t Like
I love burgers, pizza, Kalguksu, and bibimmyeon. Honestly, I just love food—eating it or cooking it. I also enjoy drinking and having a good conversation outside a convenience store on a nice day.
I don’t like being stressed, hungover, or being center in a routine.

Shin Seola.

9. Most Memorable Salsero and Salsera So Far
I’m not sure about a specific memorable person, but I did freestyle dance with someone, and the energy and practice were amazing.

10. What is the Most Pleasant Moment While Dancing Salsa?
The best moment for me is finishing the class routine without messing up.
