성화인가, 아니면 아니마의 이미지인가 하는 논의는 어쩌면 이 그림의 변죽에 지나지 않을지 모른다.
윤곽선을 흐릿하게 함으로써 대상에 생명감을 부여하는 스푸마토 기법,
황색과 청색 계열 색채의 연금술적 융합, 안정된 삼각 구도 속에 담긴 역동성의 아슬아슬한 균형,
시선들의 교묘한 얽힘, 무엇보다 정정에 이른 완숙한 여성미의 표현과
여기에서 풍겨 나오는 신비같은 그 어떤 심리학적 사실도 초월하는 아름다움이 아니겠는가.
