와사비가루 한봉지사면 2년 먹고 홀스래디쉬 2병사면 일년더 먹는데---

와사비는 키우기 어렵고 홀스래디쉬는 쉬워서 뿌리 주문 했는데

뇌두 없는것도 하나 있어서 포룸에 뇌두 없는거 싹 나오나고 물엇더니

뿌리를 토막을 내어 뭍어두면 전부 싹이 나옵니다.

포기벌이가 아주 왕성해서 밭 구석에 심으면 좋읍니다.

뿌리를 껍질을 깍아서 갈고 숙성을 막기위해 약간의 식초를 첨가해서 먹읍니다.

I got hoseradish root for plant this spring.
I have question,because not sure from Google search.
I want to share with friend,so need more plants.
If I cut the root and make each 2 pieces,
The part without crown sprout or not?

All parts of the horsheradish root will sprout if given the chance. the root without a crown could be cut into 2 or 3 pieces or simply left entire. Plant in deep soil where they are not likely to become intermingled with anything else otherwise you might never get them out again.
Crowns can produce sideways roots that run for a good distance to take over new ground.

It is not so much runners, as just root tips. If you carefully excavate, you can get every bit of root. But, those roots can go down a long way. In my experience, even a root broken off 18 inches deep will eventually make its way back to the surface.

Hey - just look at it as a lifetime supply of horseradish.

If a horseradish monocrop shading everything out in your flower bed bugs you, just add some jerusalem artichokes for balance.

Train, you are a wealth of information on how to do things but a little hard on youth. We liked our HR for Prime Rib and would collect some roots and make our HR. Could have used your input sooner. Thanks even though it is a little late.

Take heart, I cleaned mine out years ago.
It gave me trouble for a year or two but
I got it.The thing is that there are some
different strains of Horseradish.
The one I got would have made a very
nice green border around the house or
I could well have planted behind the garage.
Every part of the tuber is capable of
regeneration down to the minutest size.
A tiny chip you didn't even see will grow
out and begin to build another network
of tubers before you even know about it.
The there is that other strain that issues
forth nice smooth tubers totally unlike the
rough and gnarled tuber I had that grew
to 12 inches in length.
Those smooth ones like Durgan grew were
not invasive but the yield was less.
Now that I have your attention let me
drop a tip or two about making horseradish
unless your German and intend to eat them
whole with your beer.
First clean up the root
I do it with a peeler or knife until I see white
only.
This tuber then is chopped into 1.5 inch
cubes or there about.
They go into a blender with a little ice cold water.
I add ice cold water until the mixture moves
and circulates through the process.
When the mixture reaches the texture I desire
I check for strength.
This I do outside.
I take the blender cup outside, lift the lid
and wait for the fumes to dissipate.
Then I sniff, politely.
Have your unruly kid take a deep whiff of that.
He won't forget it and you won't be able to turn
your back on him either.

Now you know why I took it outside and why
I said polite!
If that little whiff doesn't knock your socks
off, take it back inside and let it sit, covered.
After half an hour do it again, use a different kid
because the first one is unconscious.
You may have to age it more, or not.
Once the strength has reached maximum strength
add a teaspoon of white vinegar.
No, it's not to preserve it though it may.
It's to stop the enzyme action so it doesn't
continue to heat up.
I bet most of the good folks in here before
me already know all that but for the first
timer it must be said now or your coming back later.
Lessee, horseradish+long bun+ smoked sausage(Kielbasa works best)+ mustard=
the very best eating you can wash down with a Shiner Bock!
