We need to know what the wages of sin and the fruit of righteousness are. Today's words are whose species you are. Jesus' servant is a person who recognizes only Jesus as his master and wants to obey him. The most common words in today's words are obedience. There are three reasons why we have to obey Jesus. 1>Because of God's grace. We must obey because of God's grace. <Rom 6:14>The sin cannot govern you, because you are not under the law, but under the grace. This word emphasizes that we are not under the law, but under the grace. Law means that you have an obligation to obey. Failure to obey means punishment.
However, children are not under the law, but under grace. All parents raise their children under grace, not under the law. Likewise, we, God's children, are not under God's law, but under God's grace. However, when you are under grace, you commit less sin. Therefore, in verse 14, sin cannot control us because it is not under the law, but under grace. The power of grace is stronger than the power of the law. Grace is God's love for those who do not deserve it.
We are those who have been saved by that grace. So those who believe were saved by that grace and are still living by that grace today. In verse 15-16, we cannot sin because we are under the grace. No matter who we obey, we become one's servants. Or we die as a servant of sin or as a servant of obedience. Therefore, we must obey Jesus and become a servant of righteousness instead of becoming a servant of sin. 2>The second reason we have no choice but to obey Jesus is because of freedom. Why should we be servants of the Lord? It is to enjoy true freedom. The servant of the Lord means a servant of righteousness.
Verse 19-20 says, "Before you have given your place to injustice and illegality, but now you have given your place to righteousness as a servant, and these words cannot do righteousness if we are sinners. But being a servant of righteousness is being a servant of Jesus. How can you be a servant of Jesus.
First, you must receive Jesus and give yourself before him. And every day you must try to live a life of obedience to Jesus' words. This is what Jesus becomes a servant. In verses 17-18, thank God. You were originally a servant of sin, but you obeyed the gospel with your heart and became a servant of righteousness. Why should we obey? Because of God's grace and because of freedom. 3>Another reason we must obey the Lord is because of the fruit. But all human beings until now have lived as someone's species. Therefore, it is either a servant of sin or a servant of righteousness. In verses 21-22, what fruit did you get before? Now that you are ashamed of it, the last is death. But now that you have been freed from sin, and you have become a servant to God and have the fruit that leads to holiness, this last is eternal.
This word used to be a servant of sin and bore the fruit of death. In other words, it means hell. But now it has become God's servant and has the fruit of holiness. In verse 19, you used to give your body to injustice and illegality, but now give your body as a servant to righteousness to be holy. If these words become a servant of righteousness, they will bear the fruit of holiness. In other words, they will bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit. To bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit is to bear the fruit of righteousness.
