Refraining from doubt ... Article 262. 勿疑(물의)는 내가 남을 의심치 않는 것이며 남이 나를 의심치 않는 것이다.  Mul-ui(勿疑,물의) means that I do not doubt others, and others do not doubt me. 내가 中和(중화: 善淸厚,선청후)로서 사람을 접한다면, 남도 역시 中和(중화)로서 나를 예우하여  If I treat others with harmony and balance(Junghwa: goodness, purity, and sincerity),  others will also treat me with the same balance and respect.  이쪽의 정성을 저쪽이 믿으며 이쪽의 믿음에 저쪽에서 정성을 가지게 되어  They will place trust in my sincerity, and in response to my trust,   they will offer their own sincerity.  和氣(화기)가 응집하여 흩어지지 않게 된다.  As a result, a harmonious energy(spirit) gathers together and never dissipates.  [Original Text, 원문] 勿疑者는 勿我疑人하며 勿人疑我也라 (물의자는 물아의인하며 물인의아야라)  "Not doubting(Mul-ui) means that I do not doubt others, and others do not doubt me 我以中和로 接人이면 人亦以中和로 遇我하여 (아이중화로 접인이면 인역이중화로 우아하여)  If I treat people with harmony and balance(Junghwa),  others will also treat me with the same harmony and balance. 此誠彼信하며 彼誠此信하여 和氣凝而不散이니라. (차성피신하며 피성차신하여 화기응이불산이니라.)  They will trust my sincerity, and I will trust theirs,   so energy(Hwagi) gathers together and does not scatter.    [Explanation, 풀이] 사람의 마음은 마치 거울과 같다.  The human mind is like a mirror. 이쪽에서 찡그리면  반드시 저쪽에서도 찡그리며,  If you frown on this side, the reflection on the other side is bound to frown back,   이쪽에서 웃으면 저쪽도 반드시 웃게된다.  and if you smile on this side, the other side will surely smile in return. 그러한즉 이쪽에서 착하고, 깨끗하고, 후하면   Therefore, if you are good, pure, and generous on your side, 어찌 저쪽에서 악하고, 탁하며, 박하게 나를 대하겠는가?   how could the other side possibly treat you with evil, impurity, and coldness?
