Summary:
Believers should stop judging one another and instead ensure they do not cause others to stumble in their faith. Nothing is unclean in itself, but if someone believes it is, then for that person it becomes unclean. Love means refraining from exercising freedom in a way that harms a brother or sister in Christ. The kingdom of God is not about eating and drinking but about righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. Pursue peace and mutual edification, not destruction over food. All things are clean, but it is better not to eat, drink, or do anything that causes another to fall. Faith should be lived before God with a clear conscience, and whatever is not from faith is sin.
Teaching:
If people eat similarly and dress similarly, they get along well. But the kingdom of God is not about eating and drinking—it is God’s kingdom in the Holy Spirit, and its essence is righteousness, peace, and joy. Even if eating, drinking, or observing days differ, we should accept one another. Serving Jesus means doing what pleases God: building up others, fostering harmony, and avoiding criticism, living in peace with God and with brothers and sisters.
If we do not act in faith, the word we received becomes empty. Therefore, we must speak and act in faith based on the word we have heard.
“But the one who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin.”
Let us regard everything not done in faith as sin, and live boldly with the assurance of faith in the Lord Jesus.
