Bible Reading - Philippians 1:21~30

1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 나에게 사는 것은 그리스도이시니 죽는 것도 유익함이라.

1:22 If I am to go on living in the body, 만일 내가 육신으로(몸 안에서) 살기를 계속한다면

this will mean fruitful labor for me. 이것은 나를 위해 열매있는 수고를 의미할 것이다. 

Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 그러나 내가 무엇을 선택할 것인가? 나는 모른다.

1:23 I am torn between the two: 나는 둘 사이에 나뉘어져 있다.

I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far;

나는 떠나서 그리스도와 함께 있고자 하는 그것이 훨씬 더 낫다.

1:24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.

그러나 너희를 위하여 내가 몸 안에 머무르는 것이 너희를 위하여 더 필수적이다. 

1:25 Convinced of this, 이것을 확신함으로 

I know that I will remain, 나는 내가 머무를 것을 알며

and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith,

그리고 나는 너희의 진보와 믿음 안에 있는 기쁨을 위해 계속할 것이다. 

1:26 so that through my being with you again your joy in Christ Jesus will overflow on account of me.

그리하여 내가 다시 너희와 함께 함으로써 그리스도 예수 안에서 너희의 기쁨이 나로 말미암아 넘치게 하려 함이다.

1:27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.

무슨 일이 있어도 그리스도의 복음에 합당하게 처신하십시오.

Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence,

그러면 내가 너희들을 보러 오든, 내가 없는 동안 너희들에 대한 소식을 듣든지,

I will know that you stand firm in one spirit, contending as one man for the faith of the gospel

나는 너희가 한 영으로 굳건히 서서 복음의 믿음을 위하여 한 사람처럼 싸우는 줄을 알겠노라

1:28 without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you.

너희들을 반대하는 사람들 때문에 어떤 식으로든 두려워하지 않고

This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, 이것이 그들이 멸망받게 될 것이라는 표징이 될 것이나

but that you will be saved--and that by God. 너희는 하나님에 의해 구원을 받을 것이다. 

1:29 For it has been granted to you on behalf of(~을 대신하여) Christ not only to believe on him, 

but also to suffer for him,

그리스도를 대신하여 너희에게는 그를 믿을 뿐 아니라 그를 위하여 고난도 받는 은혜가 허락되었으니

1:30 since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had,

너희들이 내가 겪었던 것과 똑같은 어려움을 겪고 있기 때문에,

and now hear that I still have. 그리고 지금 내가 여전히 겪고 있는 것을 들었기 때문에
