“Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not just please ourselves.”
If one’s faith is strong, they can carry out various works of God without growing weary. But if one’s faith is weak, the scope of doing God’s work is limited—it is not easy to handle difficult tasks.
The offices in the church are not like ranks in a company. Positions such as elder, ordained deacon, or deaconess are roles of a servant. The strong in faith are servants, and the weak in faith are as masters. This seems to be the structure of the church.
Therefore, what the weak in faith desire should be granted, because this is how God works. When God deals with people, He stoops down in love and gives greater help and care to those lower down. In this way, balance is maintained between the stronger and the weaker in faith.
Those who are strong in faith are more prone to becoming corrupt than those who are weak in faith. Thus, the longer one has been in the church, the more cautious they must be.
